honeymousey, I can tell you another reason why late night public travel in Melbourne is bad - you get a lot of drunks / drug addicts / drunks AND drug addicts who'll sit there, maybe disturb you, maybe not, but then they'll vomit, and stink up the entire carriage, and whenever the train jerks, the vomit slides across the floor towards you!!
My classic encounter is with that drug addict who wouldn't stop leaning into my personal space to boast about his penis size.
Heng ah as a nurse, I learnt how to deal with such people so I deftly channelled his attention away from his anatomy a few times, cause he somehow kept on returning to his penis talk. -

That was my exact thoughts! I was like, bloody hell, almost two hours?!! That can bring me to the Mornington Peninsular, which is like, right at the edge of Victoria!

takes me abt 1 hour-ish to reach kent ridge.. but that's really early in the morning. I used to reach my office about 8am..

Why do you guys think I'm *bleep*-ing about having to pay $5 to spend three hours on the road each day?
This morning was exceptionally bad.... I waited 20 min for the bus from home to the MRT. The bus from the MRT to school took nearly 30 min thanks to road congestion.... even though the distance from Clementi to Kent Ridge is really short.

Hubby got harrassed by some weirdo twice on the train when coming home late after work.

I'm shocked to read abt e rate of early childhood dip grads take up rate onto e industry on PAP Times tis morning... 40% end up doing other jobsand it's easy to get tis fig cos there's only 1 tert inst offering progs in early childhood

I had no idea it was THAT BAD until I was at a briefing earlier this year.And guess what, they've (MOE) upped the basic requirements(from 3 o'level passes to 5 o'level passes) for joining the service but are doing nothing about the crap pay.
