Tried it once at an off-peak hour. Took me 1hr 45min.
I don't dare try it during peak hours.
Why do you guys think I'm *bleep*-ing about having to pay $5 to spend three hours on the road each day?
This morning was exceptionally bad.... I waited 20 min for the bus from home to the MRT. The bus from the MRT to school took nearly 30 min thanks to road congestion.... even though the distance from Clementi to Kent Ridge is really short.
Wow.... so you pretty much spend 3.5 hours a day on public transport.....

a lot get less than 1k.
why do u need to 5 O level passes just to take care of kids?
nowadays u have degree holders working as office boys / girls!

the scary thing is the pay is so bad that people with 3 o'level passes can already find higher paying jobs without much trouble.

I had no idea it was THAT BAD until I was at a briefing earlier this year. And guess what, they've (MOE) upped the basic requirements(from 3 o'level passes to 5 o'level passes) for joining the service but are doing nothing about the crap pay.
it's not only insane, it's also stupid that they want to pay people that pittance to look after children..
heck! the childcare people deserve combat pay!
I think for wat it seems, now it's going to be min a dip in early childhood
It's either too slow or too crowded..... Early morning the expressway used to ease traffic jams now it induces traffic jams due to ERP... Esp CTE!

They ought to be paid better, even ppl working at oil rigs get high pay for the additional 'sweat'

Looking after kids ain't easy... Don't be surprised if childcare is another FTed industry

cos they made car ownership cheap, and that was when everyone started buying cars
you forgot just days back e rally, ERP has helped more to own cars?

i remember when National Parks asked my relatives (from Oz) to help with SG's landscape maintenence problem.
my uncle told them in the face, increase the pay of the gardeners.
because a certified gardener (landscape artchitect), he can go overseas and earn a whole lot more.

don't compare to people working at oil rigs lah, that's a highly specialised and hazardous job, of course they have to be paid a lot.

tat time when i work at pub, i get 1k as part time... wake up in afternoon; transport home provided; and all i have to do is drink, smoke, sing and chit chat...
damn it, it's a better job than facing a bunch of screaming kids!!!!

Yeah that is part of the reason too.... They are not earning from just CoE now... They earn less from CoE and then earn even more from ERP.
So conclusion... they earn even more compared to old system....
talking abt ERP... e rates for e new gantries are insane
$2 to enter Chinatown, while it's $0.50 to enter Orchard at e same time
dun see any logic why go to a budget shopping area can cost 400% more to enter

What I'd give to see LHL take the train to work like the peasants....
I read in the my(toilet)paper just now that Pak Lah took the train to work yesterday, and he didn't like what he saw.
Well, to be fair to the MRT, KL's system is seriously a rotten piece of crap. There's no such thing as 'seamless interconnectivity', and if you get on the wrong platform.... you have to leave the station, forfeit what you paid, and then buy another ticket to get on the right platform!

my friend's brother got an oil rig job.
before he started work on the rig, he called his friend who is there already
"how? can do anything to shine and get promotion or not?"
his friend said "shine what? its just a machine, they want to go left u make it go left lor, want to go right then go right lor"

It's the same in Melbourne... esepcially with the rising fuel prices, everyone decided to use the public transport.
There are not enough trains and drivers to do the job. I shouldn't complain as I have been told that my train line is the best performing line among all the others. At least there are not many cancelations and delays.

dun forget somemore e old RPS, it's $2 per day... there's no limit onto entering any gantry for how many times per day
I think is because Chinatown nearer to CBD as in Shenton Way area so they purposely jack up the price to maximise their earnings. Speaking of which, LTA earn so much from ERPs but ever notice that our roads are getting from bad to worse?
