FYI my record's clean for the month. That's because I explored the other car park.
I think driving a car is completely different from riding bikes (never ridden, only pillion). You don't feel anything in a car, it's comfortable and that's the end of it. On a bike you're exposed to resistance and you lean with it. The feeling is prolly a hundred times better. There is so much more romanticism in the headless horse theory!

wow, thats a big achievement, but the month is still early..like only 1/3 passed..
yeah it sure is, but i take the comfort over the thrill..of course there is the issue of safety and getting wet in a rain..
LOL!! nice
Good luck with your test, solea, and ride defensively! Bikes are a lot more susceptible to crosswinds and wheelspins and the grip levels and handling responses are different - have fun learning safely.

Yes I think it will be impossible to smoke, which will suck. But I see it as a back up plan, maybe one day I will no longer be able to afford the parking fines accumulated by the tin can, then I'll commute on a bike. I can store the bike in my living room so I save on season parking.

just curious, have you ever calculated how much you've wasted on parking fines and summons etc?
is it in the 4 digit zone?

I don't know, maybe they will kick me out of the class this weekend because I don't know how to cycle? Forgot to check whether it's a pre requisite.
Now I Ieave big ass gaps on the right for bikes to pass through and have since begun observing ah peks and the way they park and ride at work.
Getting a bike license is a lot harder than class 3. The dynamics look so different. Tin cans are for pussies (no offence intended to anyone) and I feel like one when I'm driving. It's a lil pretentious and unnecessary. Give it 2 years then I will pass. You have one too?
Ok am really off to bed for good. Nites all dudes.
a farking mozzie infiltrated into my room again, inspite of the aircon ! ..... again !
bit me once already and it's buzzing around under my light but I can't squish it ....

How can you let a mere mosquito get the better of you? Bring out the flamethrower, I say!
I have a nice toy .... a little plastic gadget shaped like a little tennis racquet .... the mesh is electrified by an AA battery ... it's fun .... but I'm out of AA, even my aircon remote control's using AAA ....
so the mozzie's getting a default reprieve ... -_-

What happened to ingenuity?
1. Cut the cord to any electrical appliance in your room.
2. Splice said cord to the battery terminals of your racquet zapper.
3. Seek and destroy airborne prey with 240 volts of handheld justice.
But have a fire extinguisher handy, just in case.
bike magazines are aplenty, get the ones from UK and Oz.
the USA ones are... for choppers

in north america, those kind of bikes she has in mind are called crotch rockets ....
a friend of mine just rode his suzuki gs500 from vancouver to saskatoon, that's about 1.5 days by car ...

insurance is a bitch too.
$3K per year.
i'm not forking that kind of money for an uncomfortable bike.
but as a newbie, everything is nice. soon the rider will realise how crap it feels to have a bike without storage space.
I don't understand why fatum and kopio have to ruin it for a newbie. :(
Even if the imagery of ninja 14 is a figment of my imagination into the near future, I'm still entitled to thought balloons at this point lor.
Just found out I'm too short for a lot of bikes. Think I'll stick to a small honda first.
I had my class 2 licence when riding test wasn't necessary. Those were the days when a highway code is equivalent to class 2. My first and my last bike was a 125cc Susuki scrambler.
It was fun riding the bike, racing against the wind. You feel free!. However bikes becomes a problem when it rains, especially my scrambler. The grip of the tyre becomes mininal during rainy days and it often buang when you do cornering or a right turn. I gave up my class 2 licence after an incidence with a container truck.

you'll need that skill..
anyway, i'm going to sleep.. good luck with your lessons..
goodnight everyone
I agree with bear, learning to ride a bicycle will aid and expidite your riding lesson. especially you need to overcome the fear of falling off. But I admit I admire your gut going for the faster thing first. Anyway, it's more to do with your confidence and if you can overcome the fear, things will be easier.
Sole, do they make you crash the wall during training?

They'll give firearm and pilot licenses to anyone with a pulse nowadays.
Sad, ain't it?
