Been super busy, so haven't had the time to read much last month and this ...
halfway through
"The Age of Innocence" by Edith Wharton ...
bought the book months ago at this second hand book place in selegie plaza .... the place is a treasure trove of the obscure and hard to find titles ... the owners, a chinese unker and ang moh aunty, are real book lovers, so you can ask them about obscure classics you can't find at kino or borders ....
Finished in a couple of days.
About to finish.
like the second one ? ....
checked out his short stories collection yet ? ...
I cheated, went through the summary before reading in detail. It's a good book, but why green light? And not red blue or yellow ar? I think I'm missing out on a lot more symbolism lor.
What short stories?

What books too embarassing to share? Gone with the wind or Women in love?

I had to plough through that one in the one and only philo class I ever took ..... together with "Leviathan" .... which was hilarious, because the prof was an ex flower child ...

close guess, but it's actually homer's other one.....
and nah ... I don't ... I got to reading certain books for the most prosaic of reasons ....
I got to reading herodotus, for example, cos I was so taken in by "The English Patient" (the book), and "300" was playing in the cinema then .....
I got the homer cos I happened to watch "troy" on watch-movie.net a little while back while taking a break before my lappie, and I happened to take a copy of national geographic from my collection for bang sai duty the day after (dec 1999, ancient greece) ... so I just had to go read up on troy ....
and I discovered gabriel gracia marquez cos "love in the time of cholera" was featured in my all time favourite movie, "Serendipity" ...
I am currently reading this:
I have read almost all her books now except Kisscut and the new one Fractured.... I like reading books on Fiction/Crime/Forensics (eg. books by Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, Mary Higgins Clarke)
i hear 7-11 has been reading palms
