This are the recents:
1. Serrano Legacy, omibus by elizabeth Moon.
2. Serano Connection, omibus by Elizabeth Moon
3. 3 trashy romance novels by Elizabeth Boyle ( I dont want to name them.....its trashy.)
4. Remanant population by Elizabeth Moon
5. Star sapphire by Han may (I was suddenly dreaming about that book and dug it out to read till 4 am in the morning.)
just started on picture book: Great Chinese Emperors (Asiapac book). Its very short and there are no chinese words for the "pin yin" transation so a lot is lost in the short stories.
Best book I have read in a while. Heartfelt, sentimental, touching and funny.
Synopsis
When Terri Raines was twenty-seven years old, she took a vacation
that changed her life. Leaving behind her wildlife rescue work in
Oregon, Terri traveled to Australia, and there, at a small wildlife
park, she met and fell in love with a tall, blond force of nature named
Steve Irwin. They were married in less than a year, and Terri eagerly
joined in Steve's conservation work. The footage filmed on their
crocodile-trapping honeymoon became the first episode of The Crocodile Hunter, and together, Steve and Terri began to change the world.
In Steve & Me, Terri recounts the unforgettable adventures they shared -- wrangling venomous snakes, saving deadly crocodiles from poachers, swimming among humpback whales. A uniquely gifted naturalist, Steve was first and foremost a wildlife warrior dedicated to rescuing endangered animals -- especially his beloved crocs -- and educating everyone he could reach about the importance of conservation. In the hit TV shows that continue to be broadcast worldwide, Steve's enthusiasm lives on, bringing little-known and often-feared species to light as he reveals and revels in the wonders of our planet.
With grace, wit, and candor, Terri Irwin portrays her husband as he really was -- a devoted family man, a fervently dedicated environmentalist, a modest bloke who spoke to millions on behalf of those who could not speak for themselves. Steve & Me is a nonstop adventure, a real-life love story, and a fitting tribute to a man adored by all those whose lives he touched, written by the woman who knew and loved him best of all.
Well, I enjoy reading "the hidden gifts of the introverted child"

you know, catch 22 was a book that I had around me through out my NS .....
that book made a lot of sense when you're in uniform ...
"In the second decade of the twenty-first century the world is struck by two catastrophes, a new mini-ice age and, nearly simultaneously, a plague to dwarf all previous experiences. Rising out of the disaster is the character known to history as “Bandit Six” an American Army officer caught up in the struggle to rebuild the world and prevent the fall of his homeland—despite the best efforts of politicians both elected and military. The Last Centurion is a memoir of one possible future, a world that is a darkling mirror of our own. Written “blog-style,” it pulls no punches in its descriptions of junk science, bad strategy and organic farming not to mention all three at once"
Just finished this. Awesome read.

Looks like it's time I quit smoking and stop looking old.
The Breast By Philip Roth
I'm only at page 4...but quite interesting so far..about a guy who has enormous breasts..he's trying to fight his sexual desires and maintaining his image..
I've just gotten to the part where Andromache finds out that her bethrothed, the mighty Hector, unknown to all but his family, lost his family jewels in a battle, she confesses that she's slept with his best friend Helakion(who is himself married to his dead brother's wife, who gave birth to her rapist's child) is carrying his child and decides to have sex with her father in law, the king Priam, so that Priam will think her child is his, while others will think the child is Hector's. Oh, and her lesbian lover also shows up in Troy looking for her.
Other fun stuff:
Hector beats the shit out of Archilles in a fight, Banokles marries the scariest prostitute in Troy etc
Damn I love this book
Just finished reading the Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow, Shadow Puppet, Xenocide - books from the Ender's Series by Orson Scott Card.
Really a very fantastic series that I would recommend for any Science Fiction fan - then again - if you like Science Fiction, chances are you would have already read this. It is, I think books in the series that won both HUgo and Nebula awards for 2 years running.
Like all good sci fi books, space is merely a backdrop in which to examine a deeper truth about human nature. Fantastic.

I also like Raymond E Feist very much. One of my favourite books from him is Faerie Tale - its a standalone novel - not part of any of his series. incorporating irish folk beliefs etc etc b
Pretty dry...
