If I remember correctly, trace minerals get leached into distilled water when you drink it. End result: you lose appreciable amounts of calcium, sodium etc through your urine.
Bottom line.... there is such a thing as having water that is 'too' clean.

I intend to get a water bottle soon ... then I can stop buying bottled water ...
I got a Hello Kitty water bottle from Chinatown last month. A few of my colleagues laugh and commented that it resembles a giant baby's bottle.
You want photos?

I think distilled water has clinical applications but other than that, I don't think it's good to actually drink it because of its osmotic pressure or something like that.
Just an aside, water that's sterile enough to be "Water for Injection" cannot really be injected directly into the bloodstream because that will cause lysis of the blood cells in the bloodstream, meaning, if we inject sterile water into our blood vessels, it will cause osmosis to occur, causing the red blood cells to eventually burst.

i only go thr to boil water to make drinks (own supply) when i'm 1) very hungry 2) very cold and 3) very free.... which means, yah i seldom step into thr >.<
Actually you're very observant because in buildings that are way too old, the pipes might not have been changed and if they are metal pipes, yes, they do rust.
I did suffer from a higher incidence of stomach upsets when I lived in an old Marsiling apartment and when mom finally put her foot down and insisted that I boil my drinking water, the stomach upsets stopped too.
I will drink water from the tap at home, but not from the public taps in the toilets because others might not have good hygiene habits. Bleah!
office tap water have to be boil to be consume.... distilled water not good for health.... then i drink wat??!! >.<
Heard of dity eat, dirty big ?

Package any dumb old thing properly, put a positive spin to it, and there will be people stupid enough to buy it.
In all honesty, I'm sick and tired of sales pitches telling me about how I need to install water filters to my tap and tell all sorts of horror stories about the chlorine in it.
Some MLM fellas ( I talked about that before) tried to pull that trick off on my family..... and when I told them that Singapore's water exceeds WHO standards, and the rationale behind adding chlorine.... they had absolutely no answer to my retort.
Sheesh. I've been drinking tap water for all my life. All my water parades in the army involved tap water.
If it's really as bad as they make it out to be, I'd be on my deathbed by now.
actually wats wrong wif putting water filter? and wat's the rationale wif adding chlorine?
Water filter no use... Chlorine kill bacteria and germs....
Tat is my guess la :p

Like I said.... Singapore's water already exceeds WHO standards.
You can water parade all you want with tap water. So really, what's the point of adding a water filter for $2000 when it's already good enough to drink?
And chlorine? That's to kill any bacteria that may happen to get into the water. You remove the chlorine, and you risk infection should you store the water in a water jug for a long time.
So really, what's the point of drinking bottled or filtered water anyway?
So save your money, and drink from the tap.
