That is the sad and unfortunate truth.--almost all consumer durables in this country (and, I'd imagine, a fair portion of the world's industrialized nations too) are manufactured in China. Wal*Fart is often singled out as an example of this phenomenon due to its unusually close ties with its Chinese manufacturing partners, but go into any large retail chain--Target, Costco, Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.--and you'll find the vast majority of their wares are made there too.

The China made products might make it into other food stuff as ingredients. For example, Chick or fish nuggets might use milk solids/milk based products from China and these are also tainted but not checked casue they are not obvious to carry milk or china made labels.
