Sailing on that stupid frigate 6 again tml for trials.....they wanna see how much it can take before it breaks to pieces.
And among the one I won't relish would be stabilisation tests.....my last encounter with this with the same ship left me clinging onto my bed for 3 hrs while things fell all over me...

Nothing seems to be working. Every other measure Paulson and Bernacke puts in place seems like they are responding to individual problems rather than one major response or plan to tackle the problem eg plugging one leaking faucet after another when the problem is actually a major pipe leak.

a friend's looking at leaving his banking job to become a teacher ....
he reckons he better get into NIE now before the recession hits and he'd have to compete with hordes of other people ...

Well HM's job seems pretty recession-proof? I still can't believe he's still gainfully employed despite the mistakes (and major ones too) and like pinky says "sheer incompetence". Time to get some coffee and ice the bruises.

The pharmaceutical industry seems pretty recession-proof, for obvious reasons. Mutual funds whose portfolios feature significant investments in that industry have not fared too badly in the current market crisis.Edited to add: The civil service might be fairly recession-proof in Singapore, but state governments here, desperate to balance budgets, have been forced to lay off employees.

he said he expects many more recruits into the business when recession hits .....
and he claims that infidelity shoots up in a recession ....

Frankly speaking, I've got nothing but brickbats for people who want to be teachers just because it's a recession-proof job....
They rank just above that girl I knew who joined NIE because she shot down every single suggestion I made as to which course she should take in uni.... (remember that girl I talked about?)
