To be honest, nope.
I only got my interest sparked because they had bumble bee gobies here. If they didn't, I wouldn't have bothered.

I saw shrimps like that in the aquarium too! They were small and about AUD 14.95 each. I wanted to get those initially, but they were really tiny and they might be eaten up by the gobies. They were like ten times smaller than my Crystal Red Shrimps.

I'm just concerned about my residents' welfare mah! They hardly have the space to move around now.
How much u spend on the whole thing?
As in the total price?
My cuzzin spend like few K to maintain and set up his tropical aquarium.
I want to keep an aquarium with aquatic plants that thrive and grow. I'm not interested in the type of fishes Pinky is... I'm more interested in creating the right 'natural' habitat for my residents to thrive in.
I saw this tiny little calla-lily-like plant grown onto a small piece of log wood and it's soooo pretty! I want stuff like that in my aquarium next time!
Someday, I want to keep seahorses and starfishes.

Almost AUD 300.

Wow, thts alot considering how small the tank is.
Actually if you wanna upgrade your tank, you can try looking for 2nd hand stuff
I believe they should have something similar in Oz.
Like my current 5 feet tank with cabinet in excellent condition, I got it for SGD 200 bucks. If I buy a similar brand new tank, it would have cost me SGD 2000

It's not that simple here. I don't drive so there might be a great 2nd hand deal but I'd have to go get the tank myself and if the location is somewhere far out like Epping or Frankston, it's out of the question.

It IS a lot, but fishes and aquatic stuff are double to triple the price here in general.
Plus, to keep tropical fishes in Singapore, you don't need a heater for the water, but here you do.
Even the bloody moss is AUD 6++ here! Machiam designer moss!
I'm very pleased to update that all residents are still alive and kicking, no headcount missing cause of being eaten by the other residents!
The Bumble Bee Gobies should be renamed Tiger Gobies - they are acting like bullies at times. They try to frighten the Amber Tetras then the shrimps. They kinda approach them in a menacing manner and pretend to want to nip them. They do that to each other too.
Anyways, the residents are happy.
Glad to know that they are happy
Btw the natural environment for my fish is driftwood and fine sand :P
I have that.
Although Piggy does not belong in their environment
Haha

BTW, how do you get rid of rotting food on the 'floorbed'?
I'm feeding miniscule portions to my miniscule residents, but there'll still be leftovers! I thought the shrimps would pick at any leftovers but everyone's appetite seems pretty small.
The filter is unable to get at the stuff left on the floorbed...

Izzit?! But the portions are already so tiny!!
The shrimps get 1/12 of one pellet each day, the eight amber tetras get just a pinch of fish flakes crushed to teeny bits for their teeny mouths, and the beefishes get 1/8 a cube of frozen brine shrimp which they don't seem to be able to finish so I'll cut that to 1/16 of a cube.
That's like... really teeny portions!!

Actually amber tetras eat brine shrimp too and so do the shrimps
Maybe you should just add a hillstream loach to eat up the leftovers

I cannot add any new residents that will grow larger in size.
I did want another type of loach... it looks like an eel... but was advised against it cause if the shrimps bred, the loach will eat them all up!
BTW, Pinky, the gobies are soooo amusing! They like to act aggressive but their action is so slow!
Bloody aquarium staff. I asked if the frozen brine shrimp is good for all the residents but he said nope. I even told him I'm sure all the residents will eat brine shrimp because that's like right at the very bottom of the food chain but he insisted I cannot make the other residents go hungry!
