Hi y'al i'm so so so bored now.. it's so grey outside and inside
i wanna ask this question i've been meaning to ask for the rest of the 30'ers
we don't know why we are here (spare me the religions).. so what is the most important thing in this life for you?
life is so brief.. what will you make of this chance you've got now.. this lifetime?
a friend told me to live happily everyday is enough, but i won't be happy or contented without finding out why i am here. i refuse to believe i am here to just breathe.
I am here for sex, food & bodily fuilds donation.
honestly, i don have a dream or goal in life.
We live for the continuity of the human race.
To put a spin on John Lennon, whp in turn paraphrased one of any number of people, life's what passes you by while you're trying to figure out what life is. Live every day as if it was your last, and don't sweat the small stuff. If there is a grand scheme of things, it'll reveal itself out there, and you're not going to find it while sitting down and pondering.
Grade 8 for piano by 26 years old.
Get a degree.
my goal is to be a loving father, and a caring husband!
my goal is to give my parents what they really want :) that also answers why i need to studying now :)
you have to have a goal or you go nowhere. you will just feel yourself floating in the middle of nowhere and just go by the direction of the crowds :)

i believe it'll reveal itself one day.. i think life passes us by when we live each day without knowing why

The problem is that except for a rare handful of people, the goalposts keep shifting. Actually, it may not be a problem. I reckon life would be pretty boring if you knew that goal and achieved it.
I think Gedanken's posts offer good advice.
I totally understand what you were talking about, Cameron. Sometimes, I do get caught up wondering, "Why am I here? What am I here for?" etc etc. However, the sooner we realise that the answers to such questions will perhaps not be revealed in this lifetime, the better because we can then free our energy into making our time here meaningful.
Right now, I do have several dreams that keep me going. I've achieved one huge dream that took years in the making - emigrating out of Singapore. Now, I have a dream of taking a Post-Grad Dip here, learning how to drive (starting driving lessons in November) and then owning my first car, owning my very first home here and moving all my barang-barang over here.
Those dreams will keep me busy enough and out of mischief for the next few years, I reckon!
I was put on earth ....

oh, my dream is to make myself very happy
To tell the truth.....
My dream was to have a bunch of kids, with a happy supportive hubby and enough money not to worry about buying groceries to feed the hub and the kids.
now........its having enough money to feed me.

If religion doesn't satisfy the reason for being here, why bother? even if you really know the reason, is it going to make you happier? if not, why bother?
Live for yourself. If you don't have a dream yet, start dreaming. if you don't have a goal yet, start to think of one now. You don't know how many ten you will have. just live and be happy

I'm a very generous person by nature .... I love making the people around me happy ....
I just lack to means at present to be exceedingly generous to my friends .....
but ... that's just a temporary situation ....
it's nice to have goals to work towards.. however.. i'm talking about something bigger perhaps.. like something destined?
like all your life you've been aimless and suddenly it dawned on you that THIS is it.. THIS is what you've been searching for all your life.. THIS is what makes sense of your life.. and everything that you've done before falls into place.. like the last piece of jigsaw and you know it.
anyone? you haven't been thinking about it much too ya...
and nope, i think life will not be boring if i found the dream.. lemme perhaps draw a line .. by dream i'm thinking of something ongoing.. slight difference from achieving a goal.
Suddenly I see this is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see why the hell it means so much to me
hmm
i dont know

well ... the last chap who succeeded in discerning the meaning of life ..... people started calling him Buddha .....
so why not enjoy the process ? .. take it as an end in itself ....
cos most likely by the time you figured out what you're here for ... the ride's over ...
