thanks
good luck gasband.. i think it's always nice to have changes once in awhile to regroup your priorities in life..
yeah i do not want to get too comfortable in my current status...a change might do me good in the long run...
1. how did you all come to a decision to do that especially those who took full time. Cos it can be a risk to quit the job and go back to studying full time. I do not intend to do it part time cos I never believe I would be able to cope with this job and studies. I do not mind working part time.
Yes, I did full-time study but it was a scholarship and my job was waiting for me...still a little difficult cos' I lost seniority by going away for 3-4 years. Only did it because it was a prestigious university and the degree is relevant to my career.
2. When do you think we should consider post-graduate studies?
When you are very clear about your life career. It may take up to 10 years to discover what sort of career you want. Don't waste your time and money doing something that you hate doing for the rest of your life.
3. What can we expect from post-graduate studies.
With some subjects, it's harder with age. You must be very motivated as alot of the study is down to yourself. The powers of retention and reasoning drop after your 30s. On the other hand, experience come in very handy for some subjects.
Something for you to think about: are you contemplating overseas studies primarily for the experience of a foreign student or are you doing it to further your career? If it is the latter (as with me), I spent most of my time working and did not have much of a social life. If it is the former, then it does not really matter what you study.
