I hope my tropical residents survive the heatwave! I had to drop in ice cubes to cool down the water cause the water temp reached 33 deg C!!
I hope no residents kena heat stroke!

I'm having a headache now coz the 2 rays have different preferances for food
My weirdo girl ray doesn't like shrimps and usually that is their fav food :x

I promised Rhonda to post pics of my new driftwood
It's not selected for it's looks though but for it's interior which is good for my catfish though I see all the fishes squeezing there now. Haha

Fwah! That's really some huge, chunk of driftwood you have there! It shouldn't be called 'driftwood' but rather, 'sinkwood' cause I don't think that the sizeable chunk can do any drifting!
It's really nice and appropriate for the aquarium though, and I can see how your fishes are loving it!
My shrimps, loaches, Albino Longfin and Peppermint Catfish really love the driftwood! I love the Calla-Lily-like plant growing on my driftwood too. 
Do you have to soak and rinse it to avoid alterations to the pH levels when you introduce it to your tank?

Oh, thankfully, the fishes have survived the heat wave! For a while there, I was really concerned that they will die off when the water temp reached 34-35 deg C!!!
I was in a real panic, changing water, adding ice, floating bottles of ice, constantly watching the thermometer, and even aiming the fan at the tank, like you advised. I even stopped turning on the tank lights in case it heats up the water surface, and I left the tank cover completely open too. I thought the sensitive red Shrimps will not survive, but they did!
I'm not sure if baby shrimp survived cause I haven't seen it in a while. I might have seen it the day before but it was hard to be sure cause it was hidden behind two adult shrimps when they were all having a go at the pellet of algae food thrown in for them. That was meant for the pleco's, but they seemed to like it a lot too. When the neighbourhood aquarium brings back their red shrimps special price promotion again, hopefully soon, I'll definitely get more shrimps!
I love watching them! I try to count them everyday, and it's like playing "Where's Wally?"! -
Pinky, remember the MIA Peppermint Catfish I had before I bought my second one? It's truly gone MIA! When I cleaned out the tank, vacuuming the gravel and removing all the plants for a re-landscape, I didn't spot it either!
Strange... I've never seen any carcass, nor hint of a carcass, and it's just completely disappeared!!

U might find a dried ikan bilis behind the cupboard or something one of these days
Yeah you have to soak it but I got the shop to pre-soak it for me already so I can use it immediately :P

and no, the hose/pipe was supp 2 b stuck at the side, but my big bully knocked it dwn.
tank currently contains 2 sambal stingray, 2 unagi, 4 bichirs and 4 tin foil barbs.

Den again.. mama says, all that has mouth, will bite. It's just a matter of where and when, and if it hurts as much.

That's why I love long tongs... for kiapin food, removin stuff frm the base of the tank, poke the fishes etc etc etc
Oh ya. Girl now found a niche corner under 2 DW. Boy scraped his bottom on the DW - can see red red scratches - orbi

-_-" Sorry la I short cannot see plus I was trying to reach the DWI should get one of those long tongs one of these days but I think the only thing that will bite these days are the 2 turtles but they hide when they see my hand anyway
Yeah it did draw blood. Pufferfishes have a very sharp tooth!
