Yes, that's VERY unfair.. at least give people notice at the beginning of the day rather than at the end of the day ...

she was saying she can catch 80% of what is being read in the news, which is about 120 or 160 words per minute
but she can't do verbatim like the aunties in court who need to register 225 words per minute on a stenotype typewriter

sometimes its true, my mother had this boss who would last minute cancel plane tix, rebook and cancel and rebook... last minute this and that. kinda frustrating when u have to replan the whole thing.
but amazingly, my mother was the longest serving secretary under that boss... and that boss had a reputation for changing secretaries faster than u would change underwear.
so what they did was to push my mother to work under the bigger boss.

i think it's important for employers to realized that hiring someone is not a simple matter of monetary exchange for x amount of work done ...
we're dealing with people's livelihoods and hopes and aspirations here ..... it's not something to be dealt with so lightly and arbitarily ...

Young PEOPLE.. males included .. are increasingly getting really ambitious. They think once they graduate, their degree very big and they want to start big. But they don't realise that without much work experience, there's no way you can start big!

obviously they are jumping because the company not paying them or treating them well enough lor.
if not how they get pay rise when they jump.
anyway standard tactic. I also planning to jump around to get pay rise. I got a not bad payrise by jumping job last year. End of this year see if got better opportunities =D
