It IS very sian. Actually, working on any day is sian! BUT, think of the $$$!!
Sadly, during festive seasons, a lot of families 'deposit' their elderly into hospitals for all sorts of funny reasons just because they want to have a break themselves, or they cannot handle taking care of the elderly (esp those who are demented and confused or inappropriate) on top of all the other preparations for the festivities. A few families would do so because they are worried about being embarrassed by them.
So, during Christmas, we typically close down a lot of wards because the surgeons and doctors take leave as well and so there will be no elective surgeries. Instead, we get a lot of nursing home type patients or even, patients who check in for assorted funny 'ailments' just to avoid their families or to avoid having to prepare for the parties and what-not. Lots of weird types we see during Christmas.
hiya rhonda! long time no see (or read your posts...to be technically correct!). how are things over your end?

my MIL birthday dinner, 2 niece wedding dinner, my mother's christmas party, fatum annual BBQ, CNY dinner, Company EOY dinner.......omg the list can go on.
Waaaaah!!
I have to lose weight now too... mandate from doc!
Doc says I have to adjust to the CPAP (tamade bloody hell CPAP *kicks machine!!!) to become better so I can feel more energetic so I can start to exercise and lose weight. And then maybe, I can do away with the CPAP (*kicks machine!!!) altogether.
For now, she says my sleep apnoea is so severe, no wonder I'm so sluggish. How to exercise when I'm THIS tired all the time?
Soon... I'm already walking a lot more now... soon, will get better one...

Yeah!
I only need to work hard for a short while because after that, from late Dec till maybe March next year, my assignments will dwindle. I'm actually looking foward to it because I want to take the opportunity to rest and make friends with my CPAP machine (*kicks machine!!!) and also to learn driving.

I mostly walk to and from work these days... half an hour each trip. Also, when I do my marketing or run errands, I do end up walking up to 45 mins each time. That's quite a fair bit of distance liao considering back in SG, I walk a bit nia already kpkb.

After having used it for almost a week, I can understand why patients hate them and have trouble adjusting to them initially! They are horrible!! *bodyslams machine!!!
