Ok since everyone is here...another Q for those who tried the choc muffin. Yer all think having that with vanilla ice cream an overkill (sweetness I mean)? Thinking of either making choc cake/brownie or apple crumble for NY eve din. It's western sit down - so the usual hors ders, starters, soup, main and dessert. Food won't be as much as potluck.

I like apple crumbleIt's such an under-rated dessert here coz everyone is like into choc cake/brownie
I think you won't go wrong with choc cake/brownie but it's like everywhere but for something different apple crumble would be really nice

Apple crumble with vanilla ice cream is just nice, not too heavy and it means consuming a fruit. (Ok......very stretched, but better then nothing......though most of the fellas will argue that cocoa beans is fruits.)

Ok then apple crumble. It's actually fairly simple to do and can be made ahead of time. So here's my proposed menu: Tortilla chips with guacamole; sundried tomato bread with olive oil; carrot soup; pasta; apple crumble with ice cream.I could probably do the guacamole, bread and apple crumble in the morning.

Ya apple crumble is easy and very yummy.Sounds healthy and yummy at the same time :)

Throw in some more sliced carrot sticks, celery sticks & cucumber sticks and they can go with the glacamole
Olive oil can have a variation of have raw garlic soaked in them and heated on a essential oil burner. But it might make the whole room smells galicky.
How about wine? Or at least sparkly juice for the occasion?

Aglio olio with mushrooms though will be making prawns and maybe mussels with white wine sauce separately for peeps who might wanna include it in. Tentative.

Very funny coming from guy who's family opens cafes! Yup, VK, good ideas. There'll probably be wine to go with din and port (or if people prefer baileys) for dessert.
