Usually I tour used book shop. Books are never old. I got the book 40 Laws Of Power at just 9.90 at Bras Pasah. The downside to touring used bookstore is that a lot of time is needed to search for the books u want as the store owner does not categorise the books specifically.
Another thing which i do is to buy books for friends as gifts. I bought lots of books during christmas and i am going to borrow them to read someday
Erm... so you buy the books that you want to read to give to friends so that you may borrow them to read someday?
Isn't that a bit too ... self-serving? How about giving your friends something that they like and that you don't plan on borrowing anytime in future?

Gonna set a target of one book per month, or 12 books in 2009.
I buy from either Borders or Times.
For me, I buy some, and rent some from 2nd hand bookstores.
As it is, I have way too many books and they are closing in on me

Rhonda,
My friends do not like self - improvement books which i love. I buy them books which are good for them to read but it doesnt mean that they should like them. Something like telling them u need to improve in this area but in a more subtle way.

Actually, I think that after I got my mp4 player, I stopped reading as much as I used to. These days I usually read Good Health & Medicine magazine (my fave!), plus some other work-related journal articles, more than books.
Oh... the latest novel I read was Sophie Kinsella's Remember Me. That was good!
oh well..i got snubbed by Rhonda yet again..

I've been eyeing that book for ages now! I went to Target Boxhill just now and there was one copy of that book and it was the lowest price I've seen it being sold! I almost got it but thought I'd better be a good girl and finish reading what I have first.
I regret... I keep thinking that I should have gotten it because it was just so cheap!

It's a really good read... took me 2 days to finish it! A very easy book to read. Hey you can get it from Richmond Library (they can bring it over from other libraries) - cos I don't think it's really worth $20 to buy the book.
I think this is one of Kinsella's best books.
Have just started on a new book: Mistaken Identity. It's a real-life story (biography), yet written in such a way that it's almost like reading a fiction book! Such a compelling book - so hard to put down! Maybe you might like to consider that as it has a few references to ICU! ;)
