I have OCD(obsessive compulsive disorder). I am looking for people with similiar condition to get to know them. Many times I find it hard to socialise with others as they do not understand my problems caused by my OCD. I hope to find some friends here with OCD problems and get to know them. Those who want to know me can pm me or drop me a line here too. Anyone?
What are you obsessive about?
Cherry's obsessive 'bout asking question.

Some of us might have some mild OCD, and its something most grow out of after puberty.
But some of us may have some habits that stays with us even now.
Afraid of germs, washing hand regularly or some of us may require showers regularly. Like dont shower before bed will make me terribly grouchy; even if I already showered two hours earlier due to rained on issues.
We cannot control much of germs in the air. We can only hope to be in a sanitised enviornment which is near to impossible in this earth.
And some of us do understand OCD better since we are older, experienced or just simply knowledge-able.
Welcome to Club 30. Hope you can focus of people on this forum then on the OCD then can make friends thingy.

OCD n good hygiene / personal habits is a thin line but 2 differ things.
OCD is more obsessive in the sense.
e.g. ur fingernails is already very clean, yet the person still see them as dirty, hence keep on scrubing the fingernails.
e.g. the shirt is already folded nice n properly when seen by avg people, yet the person see it still not 100% perfect, hence keep on folding n folding till it meets his/her standard of a properly folded shirt
Erm......you never see me in my perfectionist days.
I agree its a thin line.
OCD when affecting only yourself wont worry others too much.
OCD that demands people to be doing things like you should. And demanding that you do it to their satisfaction, and making you repeat the process so it will in ingrained into you.....
Manz.....you wouldnt want to be near this kinda people.
I have a friend who is seeing his pyshiatrist for OCD too. He is something similar to you but he seems to be obsessive with getting small details right. And if we dismiss that the small details are not important sometimes, he would get angry and just walk off from the group.
At first we were quite perplexed cos we tot what have we done wrong. But as time goes and as we understand OCD better, I think we are alot more understanding when he insists on certain things.
Hope you find great friends and remember always, LOVE YOURSELF!
I'm not sure if there are OCD peeps in here. (Or there could be but they are hiding in the closet / not officially diagnosed yet. )
As already discussed, I agree that there is a fine line between OCD and high standards of hygiene. Everytime I have to touch a tap in public, eg. in the ladies' or in the staff pantries, I feel all ickky because I think public tap handles harbour the highest amount of germs.
I also refuse to touch the sponge in the kitchen sink located in the staff pantry. Yucks!! I'd rather wash my water tumbler at home than go anywhere near that yucky thang!
I absolutely hate it as well when patients cough / sneeze right in front of my face! For courtesy's sake, turn your head away when coughing or cover your mouth with your hand when sneezing! It's worse when the patients have halitosis (bad breath) and they cough right in front of you face and you can feel the hot air plus almost faint from the awful bad breath!
I remember one gay nurse muttering to himself one day and rolling his eyes when he got out of an elderly lady patient's room. I stopped him and asked, "What's wrong?" He exclaimed, "For goodness' sakes! Face before fanny!! I have seen so many old ladies who use their washclothes to wash their fannies before their faces! FACE BEFORE FANNY!"

He need ur help.
Remember I went over Seattle?
At friends house?
He refused for me to do anything to tidy up. And he lectures me about placing the spoons in the right slots in the dishwashing machine.
It was thru him, that I try to erase my presence after my stay with him.
He also has guns, loaded gun magazines strewn around the house and he warns me not to touch them.
Which means I didnt touch them.
And this time, he suddenly leave a weapon under my bed when I left for skiing at Canada (Actually, he wanted me out of the house cos he got a appt with a gal that weekend.)
Now generally, I know he got some kinda bachelor OCDs that is not helpful to those stranger in his house. Its depressing.
