well, go do the touristy thing at Gold Coast and go to the Dreamworld, Movieworld and Wet n' Wild
apart from that, i'm more familiar with Melbourne..
sounds like you'll spend most of your time travelling ....
actually, yeah..

I agree. the last time we went, we rented a car and drove ourself. 1 day dream world, 1 day movie worild and 1 day sea world. 1 day farm tour and 1 day driving up the mountain. 1 day drove to sunshine coast to see whale in the ocean.
that is alot of travelling already just within brisbane and goldcoast
brisbane to sydney .... I think it's like 1000km apart ....
that makes for wat ? ... 10 hours of driving at least, if just that ? ...
and june is winter...sky turn dark early and no lights on the road
Skip the Sydney.
Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast is more then enough.
Really really please take note that you need to spend 1 day at least at any worlds. So sleep early, wake up early, go down your service apartments to get the 1st bus to the Worlds or you will be rushing thru everything.
Do not take those go 5 places in one day tour. It will be maybe 1 hour drive to destination, you go stand at the entrance of that destination for 5 minutes, then get back onto the tour bus to go another place in 3 hours to stand 5 minutes at that location.
Wear your bikinis in place of bras and bring a extra set of clothing and a towel. Worse come to worse, bring a towel.
yeah.. i did the sydney-gold coast drive.. about 10 hours cruising at ave. 130km/h with a few stops for petrol, toilet breaks and meals..
melbourne to sydney is the same.. about 10 hours at ave 130km/h
road trips during the uni break was fun... best times of my uni life
it's only 5 days, why dun u just go and explore ONE city? it'll be more fulfilling and fun then spending 3/4 of ur trip traveling...
the only time i went aus, i spent my 5 days in melbourne alone... and i haven't even fully explore it...
i spent 3 years there.. and i'm not done either
frankly.. spend lots of time at one place...
your schedule = lots of time waiting at the airport...
hi guys..thxs for the reply..
i agree with tare n viciouskitty comment
i think we need to rethink our travel plans :P
enjoy one city or brisbane-goldcoast-sunshinecoast
rather than spending 20 hours on a road (brisbane-sydney-brisbane)..
Thank for the input so far.. will discuss it with my fren :)

brisbane to gold coast isn't that near either...
nothing in australia is "near" relative to singapore distances...
hmmm...thx bear. :))
but at least minimize the travelling..
will consider the distance
Going with friends?
Then you folks planned for service apartments, hotels or hostels yet?
Transport from airport to place of stay, transport to airport?
Then the world ticks and transport to and fro?
I would say to stick to the worlds, and maybe just one farm trip to see sheeps, milk a cow and see where the macdonald burger patties comes from.
'Tis good that you're heeding the advice given by the peeps here, mate! It's true that it's much better to spend less time on the road and more time exploring a single place than just rushing around, having only time to step on the soil for a few hours, and not seeing much.
Remember to put on sunblock everyday. Every 3 hours or so, slather it on again. Sunglasses are a must because the sun can be very glaring here, and hats might help as well. It's very common to wear hats during Summer over here so you won't look out-of-place.
Bon Voyage!
yeah..vicious.. i m going with 1 friend..
will need to discuss and arrange with him...
hmmm..milking a cow.. tht would be a good experience >:)
thxs rhonda.will take not of the things.
think you can also have a hand in shearing the sheep
hi guys/gals

7.5 hours for 6 stops, including travelling, tea and scavenging for lunch from whichever stop you start feeling hungry at - you do the math and see if you can live with spending far less than an hour at each place. If you're just taking photos then it's not too bad, value-wise, but you might rue missing the chance to study a specific place further.
if i have to visit so many places, i rather be there for 3 weeks or a month

you want him to die?
it's not bangkok
Hello new_b, if you are visiting the "Worlds" in Gold Coast, you might want to reconsider wet and wild and the any other beach activities. As you are visiting in June 09, it will be cold in June (winter time). It's not snowing or freezing cold, but you wouldn't want to swim in 17 degree weather with wind chills.
Just remember to bring an Australian adapter for all your electronic gadgets.
Cheers
hi guys,
preparation almost done for the auzzie trip,
was just wondering how much does the food cost (e,g range) and how easy is it to find food in gold coast...
thxs in advance
Ermm......food wise, standby A$10 per person, per meal.
That is.......eating a hotdog bun and a can of coca cola. Whatever is left over, is considered a bonus, which you can treat yourself to a ice cream cone.
Bring along a empty water bottle to fill up with water as much as possible.
And since this is our first trip, and if you are a typical singaporean, you will be missing sg food pretty quick. eg. rice, soy sauce & chilli sauce.
So what do you think is what you guys will need to eat before we advice the prices?????
