I went to China and Macau just recently (return last night).
And still regretting about not bringing some biscuits and maggi mee in my luggage.
Only 5 - 6 days and I think they can survive without Singaporean food.

Hehehe MPB Is packing CQYD to Frankfurt just in case
Ever since he was stuck in Nairobi with sucky food, he always packs instant noodles for long stints and they make good emergency food too

Aiyah, can get instant noodles at supermarkets there lah.
But if they are on a budget, and this is their first trip overseas.....better be safe then sorry mah. Not like going to Malaysia leh.....where 24 hours kopitiams is available within walking distance.
Actually hor, if the TS and his/her friend are all boys.
So much easier......since boys can survive on bread & milk easier.

Remember in OZ instant noodles are sold individually...not in large packs for the majority....and usually those that come in packs of 5 are their own local brand which I think are not edible :x
And in Oz I think CQYD is around AUD 2 for 1 packet (not large pack)
but just make sure TS knows that she/he can't bring any food into Australia.....

There you have it TS.
Just go to Sheng Shiong or Giant. Pick up two 5 packets in a pack Maggi Mee, share with each other in the luggage.
And if you cannot live without chinese tea, pick a small box to throw into your luggage.
Then make sure your water bottle you can lug around everywhere you go to fill up on water or ready brewed tea from the service apartments/hostels.
And if possible, when eating at seafood restaurants or whatever outlet, order one set to share first. Then if still hungry, then go queue and order another set.
Their food portion can be humoungeous.

Yes you can
But They must be in the original SEALED package and DECLARE IT
They usually allow you to bring it in if it's unopened and you declare

Just as long as it's declared.
Just a little question, I intend to go to Australia somewhere February to April next year. For about 14 to 20 days for my backpacking trip.
I intend to land first at Brisbane or Darwin then take cheap flights to other parts of Australia and maybe to New Zealand. However, for singapore, to enter legally, you either have to get a permit or a return ticket.
If I go australia, would I need to produce a valid return ticket at the customs? As I am not sure which city would be my last city of embarkation because I'm hoping that it'll not be a planned and routined trip.

My emergency food was Marks & Spencer digestive biscuits. You don't even need to boil them LOL.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to get a round trip ticket anyway??

There is a different scheme for students that is backpacking. Check with your school and university. If they register you into that scheme. You dont need to show a return ticket to fly to Oz.
