Man, that final's going to be one to watch!
Got a few other photos of Serena Williams, Tsonga, Jankovic, Roddick and Djokervic but i haven't post-processed them yet. I'll post them when they're ready.
My company's corporate seats are in the fifth row, behind and just slightly to the right of the umpire's seat. The view's pretty good, and sometimes there are empty seats further ahead - I was in the front row for the Tsonga/Verdasco match yesterday.

Bet this'll be their last time in Melbourne in summertime!
Here's an idea of how hot it was yesterday:
Trade you some of our cold for a bit of your heat?

I caught Federer's headband when he threw it into the crowd after the match.
Did his sweat hit you in the face too?

it's a bad trade .....
the heat at least kills you slowly ......

Nah, the headband wasn't that soggy.

That's tempting, MG. With cold, you can put on more layers. With heat, there's only so many layers you can take off without getting arrested.

And painfully, I may add.
Maybe take away some of that ice and snow.

It wasn't? guess the heat dried up the headband ..

Ged, that's exactly the line of reasoning I use to justify to others my preference of a winter clime over a scorching summer.
In all seriousness, though, I hope you forumites living in Australia are taking all the necessary precautions during this heatwave to stay cool. I can't imagine what it's like to be out and about in 49°C (120°F) weather--the hottest I've personally experienced in my time here has been no more than about 110°F.

Take your sweat soaked underwear and throw back at him.

Guess what MG? Minnesota was among the bottom six of most desirable places to live in the US. Congrats! *siams*
Rhonda, brace yourself for a cold winter.
OK!
Tomorrow all the female staff's prescribed office wear is bikini.

Oh my gosh!! This photo speaks volumes!
Yesterday was horrible! The walls of my apartment was hot, my mattress was hot, my couch was hot, the fan circulated hot air around my apartment, and the water temp in my aquarium reached 35 deg C!!! And that was at night, supposedly the 'cooler' period of yesterday!!!
I sms'd Pinky in a frenzy because 35 deg C can kill all my residents esp those with more delicate constitution!! I ended up changing some of the water, throwing in colder water instead, throwing in a few cubes of ice again, and blasted a fan full-blast right at the tank and the fan stayed on overnight, for my tank residents. The temp hovered between 31-33 deg C despite all that.
Today, the fan is going to blast at the tank again from the afternoon when the heat is going to be at its worst, and I'll float a bottle of frozen water in the tank to help cool the water temp. I have two bottles of water being frozen in the freezer right now, on standby. The water temp is already 30 deg C.
Thankfully, today might be the last day of the temp hitting the 40's because tomorrow, it's expected to be 35 deg C and on Sunday, down to 31 deg C.
A few of you commented that it's only a few days of extreme heat in Summer over here, true, but those few days are enough to kill!
BTW, the dam levels are down to 33%. And I'm keeping my fingers crossed that there will be NO electricity outtage otherwise, we're all dead!
So, Ged, did you really turn up to work in shorts and flip flops today?

I love Winter the best, followed by Autumn, then Spring. I hate Summer! Summer is when I break out in pimples, heat rash, feel sluggish and irritable, and I get very uncomfortably bloated!
Maybe, I should move to a place where the Summers are short and mild...
Rhonda, using the fan may actually be a step backwards. You're accelerating evaporation, and with less water volume, the temperature increase will actually accelerate. I'd stick with adding cold water and ice - if anything, add more water to slow down the temperature change.
I'm in T-shirt and jeans today - I hate casual Fridays!
goodness
poor missy

Ermmm.....isn't that like PMS?
at about 4pm today, the temperature gauge in my car touches 49degrees celcius momentarily before dropping to the 47-48 range.
last sunday, i was at the aussie open and i got roasted. i managed to stay on for about 3 matches and decided enuf is enuf. \
the anticipated `cooler' weather next week is most welcome. suddenly, 30+ degrees celcius seems like childplay.
