Hmm... so The Terminator terminated the funds?!
All said, it's not only shocking, it's worrisome. There are doomsayers predicting that this recession might just trigger another Great Depression, and it's really frightening! Hearing what the economists in Davos have to say had been unnerving!

Didn't The Governator also indicate that state income tax refunds would be issued in the form of IOUs this year?
I got one. It partly reads... this not a bill nor a refund..

When I tell my Sg friends that things here are bad, they say, so are things in Sg. But I beg to differ. Things here are so bad that they've shut many of our public libraries , cut programs for seniors, closed public swimming pools, state workers will be forced to go on furloughs among other measures. Many stores here have shut their doors. Mom and Pop operations as well as big names. Retailers are practically begging us to shop their stores.
It is sooo tough to find a job. I've been looking for the past 13 months and nothing! Partly why I've become a crafter, selling my wares at the local craft fair. It's fun but by no means does it pay the bills.
On the other hand, our military recruitment offices are enjoying a high rate of enlistments.

That sucks royally. You conservatively overestimate and dutifully pay your income taxes through the year, only to be denied the refund of your overpayment because the state has mismanaged their budget to the point of insolvency.
So, does the notice indicate a timeframe for issuing tax refunds?

Whoa... sounds really serious!! At least in Singapore, public infrastructure, facilities and services will never go bust.
So how? Move to Hawaii? I meet you there!
Never elect someone who goes "I'll be back" into office, clearly he is incompetent and has to come back again to finish the job instead of getting it right the first time.
Never vote in actors to run the government, the previous actor president caused a huge budget deficit with his very enthusiastic SDI program.

Funny you should say that. We are thinking that maybe we should get out of Dodge. We have been toying with that idea for a couple of years now. The hubster will look into refreshing his request and I've just sent our realtor friend in Hawaii a feeler. Watch this space....
In the meantime, California is $15 billion in debt. The state has just confirmed that many state workers will be on mandatory furlough. The Dept of Motor Vehicles will close every first and last Fridays, until July 2010 to save the state $1.8 billion. Programs for the disabled will be severely cut back. Most current state construction will stop.
