  i'm at a loss for words trying to write something...

  basically it goes like this:

  oi... this working group is changing their focus, not our division's business anymore.. you want to take over representing our department in this working group or not? if not, we tell them our department is pulling out of the working group... if you want to continue, you go yourself...

  but how to make it sound formal and businesslike?

  there is a political play going on between the divisions and somehow, the poor sap who is the lowest in the pecking order, me kena made to represent my department in the pretext that it's my division's business...

  that fricken working group, which went through about 10 years of blamestorming (i am NOT kidding... 10 years of a bunch of them blaming each other and nothing was decided.. 10 whole years!!) finally decided to do something instead of flaming each other... and they changed their terms of reference..

  suddenly their direction is not my division's business.. and it's now business of the other division who pushed it to us..

  thing is, that asshole running that division politics 100% of his time in the office.. and outranks everyone in my division... so have to tread carefully...

  there are working groups that manage to exist for 10 years without any tangible outcome?

  yeah.. i was shocked too..

  the guy who was taking the notes of meeting showed me the notes for the past 3 years.. they were blaming each other exactly the same way during that meeting i attended... and the bloody agenda also the same things... and the guy said the guy who handed everything over to him said nothing will be solved.. and he was told the same thing from the guy he took over...

  so 10 years.. nothing solved... until they kinda got sick of it all and decided to do something.. but there's still acrimony from the past in their "discussion" during that meeting..
