I have a angmoh colleague who grew up in HDB, went to neighbourhood schools, and took Chinese lessons for fun.
But he can only talk in Chinese, but not write, because he "was not interested in learning to write the su, pie and na".

And speak of eurodance trash....I had to put up with that throughout my 4 nights at Penang.....
The nightclub was just next door!!
We usually end up going into fitful sleep only after 2-3AM each night because every time some idiot opens the door, we get the full blast of BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM on top of the boom boom boom boom we get when the doors are closed.
