I was just wondering how many of you fall into the X Generation and how many fall into the Y Generation?

But here is a general overview of the report......from the US classification....
The study, 'Economic Mobility: Is the American Dream Alive and Well?" focuses on the income of males 30-39 in 2004 (those born April, 1964 – March, 1974) and is based on Census/BLS CPS March supplement data.
The study which was released on May 25, 2007, emphasized that in real dollars, this generation made less (by 12%) than their fathers had at that same age in 1974, thus reversing a historical trend. The study also suggests that per year increases in the portion of father/son family household income generated by fathers/sons have slowed (from an average of 0.9% to 0.3%), barely keeping pace with inflation, though increases in overall father/son family household income are progressively higher each year because more women are entering the workplace, contributing to family household income

In a study of British teenagers for Women’s Own magazine, she came across a group of teenagers who were living outside of acceptable conservative mores by sleeping around, rejecting religion and disobeying their parents. When this group was rejected for use in the magazine, she co-authored a book with Charles Hamblett called Generation X.

Xer basically was the first time a generation that was literally carve out from time and under observed, of course it’s started as a consumer market research program. but it reflects the social behavior and/or perspective on social and global issued.
Some of the things that born out from Xer --- Hip Hop music, Gap fashion, Starbuck, music Video. Dot.com......... And last but not the least bursting the Economies. (Although I think baby boom set the ground work Xer get the blames)
Some of our behavior predicated upon the preceding generation. I find club 30 fall in between was just wondering whats the make up of the narrow band.
As to what it means to me in this forum. Well it basically give me an idea of what social group am I communicating with.

i hardly think we fall into a single social group here... we have ppl who are in their teens, studying, NSF, working, single, married, divorced, parents.... bind by the common love for food (at least most of us)...
i dun see a need to think so much and cheem... gen x, y, z so wat? just be urself and hang ard... cos the way u put it implies to me u see human talk human language type...

Xer is not a post war baby boomer. Iike i say it is a very Narrow band of generation carve out for observation.
Is not exclusive...but have been targeted for market research to chart behavior pattern with a definitive variable as control paremeter.

no lah is not to ask you to put a sign up. "hey I'm here" the spot mark "X"
but to actually examine what shape your view and how it shape your outlook in life.
And how you look at others. Xer sort of give you a baseline to start.

You might not be a Gen Xer, but it sure seems you're trying to make an X-rated movie there...
