Woah.... the weekend didn't feel like a weekend at all....
Saturday morning I had to invigilate the mid-term paper for that freshman module that I'm tutoring.....
Then for the rest of the weekend, it was research all the way.....
I didn't even really get the chance to catch up on lost sleep....

Rex is one super greedy tort
He took his nasty deworming med readily. I still have problems with Amber.
Anyway in true Club 30's spirit he chomped his way through all the stuff Amber refused to eat
There is nothing more difficult than a fussy tort.
Oh ya he still have a drippy nose but then again I have to contact the vet end of the week to see if the increase in heat will stop it or will he need to go on antibiotics

Oh I tried Pasta Inc behind my office on Friday
Had a strong craving for Carbonara so I went there
The place was packed and you needed a reservation!
Anyway they only had a table outside by the road and I took it anyway.
I had Seafood Soup and Carbonara.
Seafood Soup was good. I tend not to like tomato soup but this was full of flavor and slightly tart without being overwhelmingly tomato-ish. There was seafood (mussel, prawn & squid) with every mouthful but I thought the soup portion was really small.
Carbonara was of reasonable portions. It is good (not overwhelmingly creamy and you can taste the egg and it’s not overpowering but was a tad salty for me). I drank like 2 glasses of iced water. Not tried the other stuff but I figure there has to be some standard for it to be packed
Anyway, what impressed me was the service. Although I was cut out by being the only table outside, they were very prompt and checked on me frequently, even updating on the status of my food. At the end of it, they gave me a 10% discount (they didn’t have to) for not being able to seat me inside. I will definitely be going back again.

And its now so much easier to pack, when the landlords have gone thru my stuff.
And I just realised that a "melody bag" that I got has sewing designs on it. Now relegating sewing items into the bag, just to keep to the theme of things.

Also I tried the Beijing Restaurant Buffet on Saturday (located at where Lai Huat used to be)
$9.80 flat price per adult.
On Sat it was porridge (Sweet Potato or Pork with Century Egg) or you can choose fried rice. Assorted dishes. I think there were like 6 or 8 dishes which include prawn and fish. They also had salted egg, very nice salted veg dish and Sichuan style fermented beancurd to go with the porridge.
There was also dimsum. Think it was red bean pau, steamed dumplings (kinda reminds me of xiaolongbao), siew mai and something else.
Dessert was Honey Dew Sago and Cut fruits. There was also this sour plum drink.
I think for the price the quality is there. I think if you eat zhi char, the fish dish would have already set you back by $12 for a small portion.

And some financial consultant or whatever you call them from Manulife just cold-called me, trying to sell me some financial planning nonsense.....
I had a torrid time trying to get rid of her...... she kept gushing like some starry-eyed schoolgirl even after I told her that I'm still studying and that I would remain that way till 2012.
