most of the time they can't catch anything on your normal work
half the time they fault you on your secondary appointment.
what does the management say about this? stay back after work to do secondary appointment.
stay back for what f*ck? i don't have OT, i am paid to do one job.
i am amazed that some of my colleagues go back on weekends to clear their secondary appointment.
precisely, instead of being judged on your work performance, you have to justfiy your place with secondary appointments that are frankly bullshit and a waste of time.
i remember chief once saying to the pilots, all of you're expected to know how to fly, but what we want to see is your capability to do more then just that.. while its a similar case, maybe in the pilots cases they're talking bout future commanders and heads of departments, so they have to choose the right people, but for most of the specs..wtf..

an ex-colleague was due to ORD
encik came up to him "eh, they offering you to stay short term, plus promotion to SSG"
ex-colleague : "how short?"
encik : "3 years"
ex-colleague : "siao, 1 year i might consider, 3 years they can go f*ck off"
yes, they were that desperate.
even in their desperation, they couldn't think logically enough NOT to offer people 3 year contracts and consider it short

actually something is wrong when people sign on purely for patrotism / military / uniform.
and the very thing that the employee likes... pisses him / her off enough to leave.

my major gribes are with the S1s all of whom seems so farking lazy and only knows how to shoot their work here and there..once i was even "tasked" by her to log the nsmen flying hours for their payment, i erupted, complained to my OC and he shot the work straight back at her in a not so nice email..after that she didnt dare try that again..
anyway for the airforce, i dont think people actually signed on cause of patriotism but because of the nature of the job, maybe its more for the interest in the aviation sector.
army yes, airforce highly doubt so.

They scared if one person get the 1 year contract, everyone will clamour for it.
But then whose fault is it?
Before I ORD....I was brought into a sibei nice aircon room with refreshments in the midst of a full colonel with the rest of my batch.
There he tried to cajole the bunch of us into staying for 6 months....we brought up the uni clashing issue and he said along the lines of just sign on the dotted line and we'll see.
Not surprisingly nobody wanted to carry on in an overstretched squadron that might not guarantee a troubleless transition to uni.

my ex-colleague got a lower grading from a CMI regular just because his turn out was not good.
hello, we're technicians, we are all supposed to be dirty
that colleague of mine is a super siao on worker, he's dirty because he's crawling around the floor to access the bottom of the aircraft, there's grease because he bothers to grease the aircraft.
and he gets a lower grade from the management.
management is f*cking blind

still, to take an interest and make you hate the job. quite a feat
eh i thought all units have S1 + clerk?
the clerk not doing his job?

that's what they were asking our NSFs too
asking them to go to brunei because not enough people
but they rejected it of course
I know of at least 2 special individuals who were damn patriotic and yet chose early release because they figured out their patriotism can be put to be better use elsewhere.
NSFs like me liked them bcos they are sibei steady, and sweat and dip their hands in diesel with us. Other regulars? They hide behind the computer consoles, for which I dont blame them.
Just before one of them ORDed...he actually volunteered for yet another mission to the Gulf region on an LST. His request was reluctantly granted by my CO despite our painful lack of manpower because it is really hard to turn down a request to serve the country and considering the LST needed people like him.

ST is actually damn good for most of the technicians less WO's..cause their pay now with all the OT that they clock is like a WO pay..and they dont have this grading bullshit anymore..Sunday you work, your pay is doubled..So i think in a way, its a good thing that the airforce is commericalising, cause people will work for the money, a much better motivational tool then the PP1/PP2..

dont know..they seemed to be in carhoots together, many off days, coming in late although its a 8-5 job..going out for 2 hour lunch breaks..sigh..but i dont blame the clerk, i blame the S1 since she's in charge. Maybe thats what happens when the S1 is based in CAB and the clerks is based in the squadron.

regulars hide behind computers? good life leh
our place, even encik gotta get greasy.
maybe that's why we dun call our enciks the usual way
we have "botak" and "father horny"
i remember i was on the LST and some navy fella asked me "do u all talk to your warrant officers like that"
i told him "ok what, he has to work also, not stand around and look at us"

the people who join ST are either married or singles who have no life

thats why the admin side is so slow in many areas..my promotion was delayed slightly until i made a hooha then they got it done..
ytd for my ord clearance form, i needed to pay the mess supscription fees, went down was told that my name wasnt in their nominal roll.. what do you know, the S1 "forgot" to informed them that i've been promoted to a WOSA..

during one year, our airbase was in charge of organising the SAF day at SAFTI
i was walking down the steps and this encik stopped me and asked me why i never greet him. so i just looked at him with the frowning f*ck care face and said "good afternoon" and started to walk away.
he asked me what unit i'm from and i told him
later i went to report to my encik, he said "don't care this type of people lah, nothing else better to do"

actually not very true, in ST if you dont wana work on the weekends etc you can choose not to, cause you're paid for how much you're working. And there will be people who will readily cover your work if you dont wana do the extra.. Thats what happening in my side, we have abundance of people now so if you dont wana work no one will force you too. "Sunday family day, go ahead". Deep contrast to "Sunday come back and work, its an order, i also no family time what.."

isn't that a good thing?
i dunno why i pay mess fees for, i barely use that stupid place

my freedom is more long term.
like 3 weeks in thailand every 2 months...
that one ST definitely can't offer

its not that the silver lining was that i could escaped, cause the fella didnt wana sign on my form, and i cant leave out that portion cause i am a WOSA, so now i had to go back and get my own promotion slip, pass it to them, let them create a backdated record and pay it..farking waste of time.. and yeah in my whole tenure think i've only been to the mess like 5 times, and its mostly cause i went there for lunch.
but then again its a good thing that i dont use the mess often.. imo i find that the people who uses the mess for entertainment and drinking are damn sad. either they have no life, err wait.. they dont have a life..
simi mess?
i wasn't even based in my own unit and i kena pay mess fee..
i didn't even know where it was!
but screw it.. it's over..
anyway, it's wednesday.. midway to the weekend!
and this weekend is Italian Food Night
The mess?
Only been there once - to pay the mess fees in person.
I was far more content to just spend my free time lazing in my bunk.
sometimes i wonder why the auditors let them get away with things like that
Day just started, and I'm already having a headache....
Without going into too many details, it involves a large amount of red tape on my side, and pure inertia on the side of suppliers....
*slumps head over desk*......
