Hey people!
Been a lurker for a while now, so thought an intro thread is in order.
I am boring, introspective and am currently based in the UK working. I have interests in current affairs, UK politics, and reading. I watch the telly, surf the net and read alot. What time I have left I spend on exercising, the cinema and pretty much just lounging around.
This is probably the most grown up forum in these fora - hence my lurking here!
NB: Not quite 30 yet but I understand that is not a problem.

Hello there... have you got a take on Nick Griffin and the BNP?

Nick Griffin just got roasted on Question Time. In a way, that might be seen as being a boon for NG and BNP because now he can claim to have been persecuted.
I do not want to see the BNP in any position of power. The BNP wants a limit on immigration and I think most people will agree with that. The devil as always in the detail and I think the BNP and NG is inherently racist. I think the mainstream parties need to get a grip on immigration somehow because as things stand, the BNP will get votes from fustrated voters.
Unforunately, the way the UK is structured now (being in the EU), immigration will be difficult to deal with. Add to that a recession and I think the BNP will gain ground for at least the near future.
