As New year come and gone....but did you know Dec 31st 2009 new years eve was called a Blue moon.
It happened when you have full moon twice in a single month. That is why it is called once in a blue moon.
Plus it was 19 yrs ago that it happen on new years eve.
So now you know where the term come from....Blue Moon.
There's been much different interpretation of the term "blue moon" which originally refer to the bluish tint of full moon during volcanic eruption.
