Just got back from the North-East Run.
As expected, the run itself wasn't difficult, but the route was damn pathetic.....
I was held up at two overhead bridges because the lousy guniangs in front of me walked up the bridge instead of jogging up the steps..... basket.....
bwahahahaha!

Actually, I don't blame them that much..... yeah, they're weak guniangs who can't even be bothered to give way to those who want to run up the steps, but I lay most of the blame on the feet of the organizers.....
I mean, how can you have a race involving a few thousand people crossing narrow pedestrian bridges early in the race? While that was also the case for Sundown, the narrow pedestrian bridges only took place late in the race when all the runners were shagged and widely strung-out. Otherwise, the first 21 clicks involved Changi Coast Road and East Coast Park.
At least the bridge at Temasek Poly was wide and there was enough space for me to overtake while running up the steps.
The one at Tampines Central CC, however, was the worst clusterf**k of all.... I was forced to walk (not even jog) even though every ounce of my body wanted to run....

Yes, you have a good case for getting deferment if your callup is in the middle of the school term.
As for allowance, you will get pro-rated pay based on your rank and vocation.
watched greenzone this morning. plot-wise, fairly predictable if you follow the US involvement in Iraq but very enjoyable nevertheless machiam like blackhawk down or hurt locker.
I am looking forward to the new Robin Hood movie. From the trailer it looks more like Gladiator part 2 though. And yes, its starring Russell Crowe.
i am looking forward to clash of the titans..
