Anyway, it's really stupid lah..... surely just taking out your card with your fingers takes far less effort than bending down your entire upper body over 90 degrees?
I've also seen ah peks on the bus who are too lazy to take their card out of their shirt pocket..... this time, they go into a half-squat position and knock their left chest against the card reader.
maybe that's their "most graceful" way of doing things

Playing devil's advocate here: I can kinda, sorta see the logic in keeping the card in one's pocket or bag when tapping it as it eliminates the chance of accidentally dropping the card and having to hold up people behind you as you scurry to pick it up.
the biggest wheel, ie our THE FLYER can get stucked, how Universal studio rides??

Going into a half-squat position, aiming and whacking your left chest at the card reader and then going back into a standing position takes up more time than simply taking the card out, tapping it, and putting the card back into the pocket.
Hell, those ah peks who had to aim their chests at the card reader? They usually needed several attempts at chest-aiming to be successful. They actually had to whack their chests against the card reader repeatedly. More time wasted.
Going into half-squats is also biomechanically inefficient, and the stresses on the knees are significant, particularly for old ah peks with weak joints.
And that Indian fella? I would think that bowing ninety degrees would lead to the risk of his ez-link card falling out of his chest pocket.

That is seriously the most dumbass protest I have ever heard.
Needless to say that all that spilled blood is a major biohazard. I sure wouldn't mind having the organizers placed against a brick wall and summarily executed should an innocent bystander get hepatitis or AIDS from coming into contact with the blood....
The blood bank is crying out for blood donations, and the protestors waste their blood on this monstrous nonsense.... sheesh.....
