ahhh... i meant, there will be a period of time when everyone moves up into the control station and the escalator will be empty... There will be periods where the escalator is empty even during peak periods...
I see, I forgot that the train comes @ every 3mins for peak hours. The crowd probably take 2 mins to clear.
Ok.... this was on an NUS shuttle bus.... but public transport nonetheless.....
I was in a near-empty bus when some doofus boarded it.
Instead of sitting down, he chose to stand and hold on to the overhead handholds. Then when the bus was moving, he would 'swing' like Tarzan while holding on to the handhold and make a 'WOOOOAAAAHHHH!' sound.
Kaoz. They really need to beef up the NUS admission standards to keep nimrods out.
A couple of weeks ago over here, a homeless black man and a black woman boarded our bus. They'd been arguing very loudly at the bus stop over $2 and the argument carried on in the bus for 15 minutes... every other sentence from both sides contained 'muthafucker' or 'muthafuckin''...
Somewhere in that 15 minutes this guy who looked like Bill Crosby boarded the bus. He saw what was going on, and asked aloud, "Am I on the right bus?!"
That made everyone laugh and this young guy yelled, "This is the bus of freedom!"
And tonight there were free shuttle bus services from the St Patrick's block party to anywhere in the county. On my bus the other passengers were a bunch of friends. And the loudest one asked his friends things like, "If a woman told you, 'Buy me a drink,' what would you say?" "Would you push her off a cliff or hold her head underwater to drown her?" "But she's only had one drink, how would you make her drunk?" etc
Hmmm I've seem plently of crazy ppl on the trains...some will even harass the other passengers.
Once I saw this insane guy try to ward off a couple by doing the sign of the cross. He was trying to 'chase evil away' haha
In the end the couple got fed up and got off.
I have seen this PRC guy lean on one of the holding pole with his body slanted at a 45 degree angle.... wonder is it some shaolin stunt
Another time I see this fat guy whip out a HUGE shocking pink fan and started fanning himself violently in the crowded train. When I say HUGE, I mean HUGE.
Oh yeah I saw 2 gays holding each other crotch and kissing throughout the journey too. That was super -_-"
P/s: ShrodingersCat- ur story is so lol....darn funny mann! i wish to see that
fudgester- that's a wierd uncle, but I have seen my share of mad man.
Seriously should be taken to imh type. i come across in the bus i take home one point of time, there is this sieow dabo that keeps banging his head on the window and blaming his father, mother, etc. juz literally cao bei cao bu n shouting about his whole family.
Another sieow dabo in the mrt boards at kallang and drops at cityhall during morning. he never fails to give a "performance", singing and banging his tummy like a drum. problem is, it is totally not entertaining...if only it is some celebrity performing.
scarry people...never really seen them now, so perheps their current residence is in imh...=p
oh yah.. this was when i was a student in Melbourne..
some guy in a bulging jacket got into the tram.. we were all standing.. then we saw a little puppy head pop up from inside his jacket..
the guy smiled, put his finger to his lips and went "shhh!" and the pup was also very well-behaved.. it just looked around and kept quiet

Hmm..... I once had a madman in the bus seat in front of me who did pretty much the same thing too..... he kept slamming his head against the bus window and yelling profanities....
Maybe it's the same madman? In my case, I remember he boarded the bus somewhere in Bedok.

I'm quite certain it is, now that you say he is from Bedok. Coz when i saw him in my trips, he seems to be heading in the direction to Bedok.
Goodness, just wonder how he still know basic things like tappig the ez-link card, what time to board the bus and destination when he behaves like a madman.
I don't take that route often now, so is that guy still around? Or has he checked in to IMH yet?
saw this old auntie who's a bit siao. Spoke cantonese to the bangla when she sat opposite him in the bus. the bangla was stunned and didnt know how to react. But the auntie still looked really involved in the "conversation".

got see if she has a bluetooth device on her ear or not?
sometimes i see the people walking around seemingly talking to themselves but got bluetooth thing on their ear.. walking around talking like that makes them look like lunatics
haha thats a gd one. her eye contact with the bangla was hilarious.
oh yah.. many years ago, i was on a bus from Jurong East to my place... a bunch of Indian foreign workers got on a bus... and they started to bargain with the bus driver about the fare..
the bus driver scolded them and kept telling them to pay up.. he was very angry and suddenly, he shouted at them.. of all things.. hokkien obscenities!
when he reached the next bus stop, he opened the door, yelled at them some more and pointed out telling them to pay up or get out... they paid up

No idea.
Maybe he succeeded in smashing the window and got himself committed as a result.

I think I met that man on the bus before, he was sprewing profanities to no one in particular then suddenly he turn to the Indian guy sitting beside him and scold him with profanities like blaming him for something.
When the Indian guy got up to alight, that madman even slap him on the back. Luckily the Indian guy didn't retatilate and just walk off, and the madman alight at Bedok.
i think our society is very stressful. People here walk really fast. Met some indonesian friends the other day in sg and realised i am always walking so fast!

There's this old man near Hougang CC who stands at the bus-stop with a whistle.
Whenever the bus comes, and the door opens, he would whistle and wave to the driver...machiam like one of those train peeps.
The drivers must have gotten used to it, cos they have learnt to wave back to him.
