don't drive in the winter months or when there is ice on the roads.. it takes a trained driver to drive on those types of roads...

yah.. i think it's very comfortable weather then.. around their summer
that is a good season to go..
something i learn when i go phototrip, dun choose winter..
everything come out white/grey/black ...:( no color... dulll..
however, the happy thing is we got snow-fight to play...
*last trip was sichuan on a 4,800m mountain, we were snow-fighting, driver looked after our eqpt, while a few of us (all 30 and above) played like children...*
driver and me each made snow man too ..
awww.. i missed those days..
hokkaido... must try thier miso ramen...
go there to eat cold water seafood...
as you can see in my FB pictures, the taraba-kani or king crab.. their scallops, octopus.. whatever it is.. just eat the seafood.. lovely..
the hairy crab in hotpot, no need to eat one.. not much and by the time the hotpot is done, the crab has imparted all its sweetness..
go eat things like their big clams (very very sweet) and sea urchin...
and if you can, see if you can get turban shell.. delicious!
also live abalone..
and if you go to the fish market, go fish out a squid (their famous product) and see the guy slice up the thing for you to eat.. no flash photography please.. he may end up slicing himself so they're bad tempered about it...
yum yum

i'm thinking of going on my own. wonder would it work out to be cheaper becoz I want to extend to Tokyo for the next 7 days on my own?
1. airfare+tax = abt $1200/pax SIN-Naita-Sapparo-Nrita-SIN. They have a landtour arranged in SG for $1800
group tour = $2800/pax

i find that exploring by yourself is always a lot more fun...
and tokyo, you MUST go to the little shops which have little charcoal stoves for you to barbeque your own food..
i suggest the aforementioned turban shell and maybe horse (which i've not tried yet but was very recommended).. go with their local beer.. it's heavenly...
zora and i will go to tokyo again one of these days.. but osaka awaits us next month
wish i was on hol now, japan wherever! i'm so stressed that i'm waking up at 4+ these days.

Driving in Hokkaido is fun and you get to go to those small small shop to eat. If you can, go to the fishing port to get the freshest and cheap seafood =)

so his thigh bone is cracked / shattered, they did an xray and they saw more cancer cells than bone cells.
he's more than 90yrs old but still want to go for op.

when i reached, he looks ok leh... hmmmmm
this morning i received a sms, the surgery will go on
