Right now I see the damn YOG buses on campus every day.... they hired the same bus company that provides the buses for NUS shuttle services.
The way they handled the whole YOG bus issue is one big f**kup.... by emblazoning the windscreens with 'GIVE WAY' in large bold characters, and threatening motorists who don't give way with fines, what kind of message are they sending out?
Would it kill them to just put out a press statement to kindly ask motorists to give way to YOG buses where possible? Sheesh.
not possible for e buses.. they've speed limiter set at 60kph.
Wat I worry is e official cars, later speeding like maniac

'strongly encouraged' is something that happens a lot at work, esp the public sector
I think they didn't want it to be at NTU because it's going to affect SAF badly.
The atheltics need to sleep.

That Singaporeans respond better to the stick rather than the carrot approach?

It's too late for that. They have already threatened motorists who don't give way with 'the usual traffic penalties'.
Quoting from CNA:
Motorists have to give way when they these vehicles approaching - just like they would for an emergency service vehicle.
The same traffic penalties apply but the organisers are counting on motorists to see it as a part of being gracious hosts.

This is just plain absurd on so many levels...
Like I've said, some of the YOG lane schematics is going to create havoc - how to give way?
End up some places is going to shoo e lorries out of their usual lanes.
everything about the YOG is pissing us off
from the tranny irritating us with the song, to the traffic, to the $200million over budget, to just being YOG

the give way signs on the vehicles is fucking retarded.
Actually they had to come w/ something knowing they can't make a dedicated lane in Singapore.
Can't they stagger office hours during tat period?
what if we can't give way coz the fucking left lane is full and the fucking right lane is also full... and all the cars in the middle lane are also going at about 10km/h?
that's what i see on the PIE in the evening... and the whole stretch of the middle lane is "give way"
i wonder.. give way where?

but then again, there are ppl who refuse to abide by e normal yellow box rule for bus stop bay exits.
