The Candwich
It’s rare that I go for processed foods. Sometimes something will come through The Appetizer HQ that has to be tried (like this), mostly for research purposes – that is, tasting things so you don’t have to. It’s just what we do.
However, the Candwich will never be one of those things.
Created by Mark One Foods, the Candwich comes in a trio of flavours – Peanut Butter and Jam (Strawberry), Peanut Butter and Jam (Grape) and BBQ Chicken.
Billed as “Quick & Tasty To Eat”, the cans of sandwiches are currently being marketed to “students, construction workers, soccer moms and outdoor enthusiasts”. I was a student once, and am now an outdoor enthusiast, and I will never, ever eat one of these things.
I realize I may not be in the majority on this one though, and those who might be excited by the product may be happy to know that Canwiches do not require refrigeration. In fact, the creator is calling on those of you with a bomb shelter, highlighting that the product “has a long shelf life that is perfect for emergency food storage needs in the event of natural disasters.”
The product is not available in Canada. In fact, it seems to be in limited production indeed. One of the companies investors is currently being sued, according to The New York Times. However, the creators are hopeful that the Candwich will go into full mass production later this year.

Undoubtedly, that would drive me bonkers too.
If there's a silver lining, it's that you only have to put up with it until ND... unless they start piping in Barry Manilow music after that.
so hot tonight.

As if sandwiches weren't easy enough to make or buy, they had to come up with this. More trash, more laziness.
all e instant food these days.
I think tis year's NDP w/ e SMRT broadcast reminds me of N Korea.
after looking at talking bus's post about the NDP song on the MRT stations in the train maniacs' forum, i've come to the conclusion that they are utterly and ridiculously barking mad

is that your goal?
Last year's NDP song by Electrico sucked.
But the Mr Brown version (by 'Electrician') kicked ass.

Speaking of hot weather, I needed a floor-standing fan to circulate air in my computer room upstairs as it can get pretty warm in there in summer. Being a cheap bastard, I headed over to Wal-Mart to look for one. Given that 99.9% of the junk sold in Wal-Mart is made in China, I was genuinely surprised to find that the fan that met my needs and which I ended up buying was actually made in San Antonio, Texas!
So there, I did my part to support local industry over the weekend.
