You created an account that's "based in USA" issit :P
I'd really want / need the following features :
- colour e-ink technology - what good is e-cookbooks / e-coffee table books if the photos aren't in colour?;
- more of my favourite magazines to jump onto the platform, eg. Bon Appetit, Saveur, BBC's Focus, How It Works, National Geographic, etc. Right now, mags who are available via the e-reader, eg. Time and Newsweek, aren't the same as their paper versions because photos and what-not will not be included from the e-versions ;
- the ability to upload certain documents onto the e-readers with ease. I think now, for the Kindle, a fee is involved if uploading of documents is done;
- more reference books and textbooks for my profession to be available as e-books. I would really really LOVE having access to good medical and nursing texts whenever and wherever I want!
PLEASE let my wishes be fulfilled real soon! Can't wait!

Poor thing! Well, gives you an excuse to travel to neighbouring countries so you can d/l e-books!
BTW, what the hell is wrong with the Singapore govt?! WHAT in the world is their rationale, if any, for not permitting Amazon's e-books to be purchased in Singapore?! I seriously cannot think of any good reason for this stupidity!

Err I'm not sure if its the decision of the SIngapore govt :P
Its more likely the decision of Amazon...

Well, I don't see why Amazon would cut Singapore out of its list, especially since there are American expatriates living there who would definitely be ready customers!
I've always thought it was some form of censorship imposed by the govt. Going by the way av's ranted about it, he certainly made it sound like it was a govt thing!

if that's the case why is amazon willing to ship to shitholes like zimbabwe, rwanda, and the congo? and even myanmar! something doesn't add up.
anyway, for me thats one more reason to vote for the opposition.
and its not just amazon that won't/can't sell ebooks to singapore. try the other ebook sites like the mobipocket site yields the same results.
I prefer e physical book
even if kindle does ship to singapore, the ebooks prices most definietly will be more exp than the us prices, you'll most likely end up faking another amazon acct to buy in us prices..
Oh is that right?!
I've always assumed it was cos we have relatively lax piracy guidelines (in comparison to internet savviness/ computer ownership) :P that's why they don't sell to us! :P
