The Not so usual highlight of NDP

  so I brought my wife to attend the NDP yesterday given that it was more than 10 yrs ago i attended a NDP at Padang.

  I told my wife about all the new exciting hardware. During the Parade My wife was okay not really amused with the hardware.....but she leaps with joy and get all excited and clap when she saw the SAF mobile Washing Machine and Dryer!!!

  That was her highlight of the Day.... :  )

  I have not watched NDP since 1992/1993. LOL

  Yesterday my husband turned it on since there was nothing better to watch on TV during dinner.

  I’m kinda scarred by the weird Star Wars + Power Rangers looking outfits doing a dance like what I think the Teletubbies will do.

  i didn't watch the star wars or power ranger dance...i was standing near suntec and after the mobile column we left to another site to watch fireworks.

  So it ends up that the partial fireworks was blocked by hotel Conrad. With hundreds of other people we stood at the Pebble bay area watching fireworks.

  anyone who has served proper NS should know...

  never underestimate how much clean uniforms can boost morale.

  there was a washer and dryer..

  zora pointed that out to me...

  i was cracking up watching the poor cadets having to present arms when their arms are actually umbrellas

  that's not for uniforms  

  that's for the combat support hospital.. clean linens!

  I think many years ago during one of the NDP celebration, it was said there was a heavy rainfall but still the NDP goes on.

  Think it was the one and only rained NDP for sg.

  The ministers remained soaked in their seats, and the crowds and performers too.

  The past NDP has been always the same routine; nice weather, performance, parade, planes, helicopter, PAP and ministers etc...

  How about a rained soaked NDP for 2011... i hope to see it for myself how people will react to that kind of weather.

  if it rain there is a possibilities that it will flood.....than the Navy can fully participate in the NDP....

  i think for one meal to feed the entire battlion is fine......just try to feed the entire battlion for 1 month....i tell you that would be a Test for both the Cooks and the Men....!!!
