An Owl, in the park !

Was walking gau gau late last night at the park behind my house, got surprised by this critter at a low branch .....
the bird was perched at my chest level .... magnificent creature ..... even patches was stunned for a while .......
too a series of pics before the bird swooped off silently, and struck down onto the ground ....
hunting mice.
pics are rather poor .... pity.

oh, it's a bit creepy at first .... but becomes cute up close .....
the bird got a rather "blur" look up close ......
gonna bring along a real camera tonight .... see if I can capture more pics again ....

There's one in Marina Barrage too, perches itself on a waterpipe on the ceiling in the day to sleep and to laugh at us while I was doing YOG duties there. -

look around for owl pellets... they're also interesting although a bit gross

Funnily enough I saw the same kind of owl perched high up on the fence around the football field near my block. I mentioned it on FB too. It definitely had the face and mottled plumage of the spotted wood owl.

was craning my neck throughout .... no owl tonight ........ mice were squeaking in the undergrowth .....

i saw one up close years ago when one flew and ended in my bedroom in the day. it must have lost its way. just a slight movement i made panicked the bird. but it was really an experience to see one up close.
