Hmm... I wonder if it's too late to book a nice hotel room with a balcony and unobstructed view of the Yarra River for New Year's Eve to watch the festivities and fireworks.

or sneak onto a roof top with kakis with a cold beer in your hand, and shout HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I feel like a well taken care spoiled son in my workplace......all my colleagues are old enough to be my uncles and they take care of me like they take care of their sons and nephews....buy me extra food at lunch, tell me to rest when i get tired of working....i feel so lucky....

Do you plan on this being a solo activity?

Lucky you. You should show your appreciation by doing something for them in return.

And then accidentally lose your footing / poorly maintained roof tiles come loose and someone slides off the roof and kena serious spinal injury and then you'll have a new year minus the 'happy'.

If I'm really keen on doing it, and if I can't find anyone else who is keen on the idea, I'll just do it alone! I enjoy my own company very much! Besides, my roster often clashes with my friends and on top of that, sometimes I'd rather be alone than go out with bad company.
I'm used to eating out alone and attending events and watching movies and shopping alone and have no qualms about it. I only wish that one can enjoy Korean tabletop BBQ alone because apparently, that's a no-no.

ltns too!!
Y'know, MG, on the subject of going solo, it sometimes means a 'lighter baggage'. Times when you go out in groups, you have to take into account everyone's opinions and preferences and that can present a big headache. Sometimes, it's good to 'travel light' and just do whatever you want and have quiet zen moments.
Even when it comes to sports, I'm attracted to solo sports and activities like swimming, canoeing, rowing, etc.

Good that you do not fear your own company too!
Time to go program the washing machine to start its cycle early in the morning. BRB!

"Sea Crabs attacked with Mushroom of Season" sounds like a badly translated Japanese Anime! You know, like "Moth of the Ra attacked with Zilla of the God"!
