I drank beer with every single meal, including the convenience store raids, except breakfast. No sake though.

I bought tons of CDs and 17yr hibiki and 12 yr yamazaki single malts.
(Yes... AV hath taken the bait~~~)
But but~~ AV~~
The 2 Hair Band thingy is part of the plug suit....
oh, if you like 90s era music(both japanese and western), there are lots of CD shops selling used CDs, which are still in pristine condition, for 250 to 500 yen per album! and these are original japan-pressed CDs! not the export versions!! I basically went crazy buying them.
Woah that is about 50 bucks more than my Canadian 45 day Air Dried Steak
At least mine only cost around SGD 100 though the flavour and texture is amazing too
but the best meal I ate during this trip was the eel lunch set at a small little place in this quiet town near mount fuji. prepared behind the counter in front of me by 2 obasans.
hmmm...
All this talking abt food has made me hungry...
I've been having quite alot of chinese crusine nowadays...
Maybe after work I'll head to robinson quay for tat nice unagi set...
my best meal there.. actually, most of them were good...
our meal with the horse and ox tongue sashimi, the DIY barbeque where you pick your own seafood and they prepare and bring it to you and you do it over your own personal hibachi (we went there twice) and the okonomiyaki...
in hokkaido, the giant crab, and strangely, that little bar where we barbequed a turban shell and some stingray wing..
and yes.. almost every meal was with beer...
oh oh.. did you get the coffee cans with the little toys?
coffee can toys (free gifts from the little cans of coffee you buy at the convenience stalls)
nice...
AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

actually no. but I was drinking copious amounts of canned coffee from the vending machines lol.
I look foward to quality time with my japanese single malt after I'm fully recovered from jet lag and sleep deprivation.

do your planning over here first. plot out your route, which trains to take etc.
you don't want to blunder around blindly when you're over there.
and always pick hotels nearest to the railway stations. well, within reason of course. I was staying at the Mariott located right on top of the Nagoya station when I was there and it really was an unnecessary extravagance.

acid, it is very important you do all the plotting here in sg before heading to Japan...else you will be spending alot of time figurine out where/what to go/do
I miss Japan

just kidding lah..
the 12 year old ones can get at Changi DFS...
oh oh.. i'm contemplating a compact camera... drawn between the Canon SX210IS and the Sony HX5V..
so far, people seem to think the HX5V is a better camera... maybe it's coz of the CMOS sensor in the thing

YAY!!
when i was last there as a shopper, they didn't have it..
i will buy many bottles in our travels!!
i will also see if they have the Hakushu blend.. if they do, i'll buy a bottle coz i've never tried it.. if their Hibiki and Yamazaki are anything to go by, it'll be really good too!
I think I shall bring along the yamazaki single malt for the potluck.
THE HIBIKI IS MINE AND MINE ALONE!
i've put away enough in a little coffee can to buy a bottle of the 30 year old Hibiki..
that which costs ¥75,000...
i may buy it if i pass Narita again
I can imagine if our DFS bring in the 30years old one, what will happen....

subsequent trips I am going to try haneda airport instead cos its closer to tokyo. the narita express train is not cheap sia. this time round it was ok because we already bought the JR pass but I don't think I need it in the future.
