Sigh..... this is the third time in seven months that my HTC Desire is at the repair center.
As much as I like the Desire, three breakdowns in seven months is a major liability. I'm seriously considering replacing the phone via trade-in.
I'm thinking of either SE Xperia Arc or SE Xperia Play. Any comments/suggestions?
morning world~~~~
the Arc is good except the battery life sucks.. really really sucks
What kind of suckiness are we talking about?
Less than one day on a full charge with the occasional call and SMS?
Good Morning..
I need to change my phone too....
phone contract ends in Oct, so I was thinking, signing up with MioPlan, with internet/mobilephone/home phone...all in one for $87.00
what u guys think?
or,
sign up a mobile phone with 3G use up to max(additional $30 each month) and sync to computer when using... but must it be a iphone only? android phone can?
visited a singtel shop, shop assistant tells me...wait till oct..more new phones coming..

Means... He is pulling your leg and is pulling it off quite well! :D
Though rumours has it that Iphone 5 is coming,4th quarter of the year.
I would have hooted the SGS2 if not for me over eating my budget...
Really Eat into my budget >__>
I never considered iPhone, and I never will.
To me, the biggest bugbear about it is that iTunes is tied into it, and that I must use it come hell or high water. Seriously, what's wrong with plain ol' copy and paste?
Android FTW.

That and I hate it that iPhone don't have SWYPE for sms and also they don't allow you to customize your phone interface like Android.
iPhone to me is like standard military issue
LOL one of my friend just got a spanking new BMW as her birthday present
i test water on HGW, they really deleted all the recent negative postings AGAIN.. for that horrendous shop!
eh..andriod phones can sync to comp thus giving it (the computer) wifi internet access ?

USB tethering?
Yeah, I could do that with my HTC Desire, though I never tried it.
back from lunch~~~
Anyway, I've pretty much decided on the Xperia Arc.
Sony Ericsson and Nokia are the two brands that have never let me down. And between these two, Android beats Symbian anytime.
As for the choice between the Arc and the Play, the Arc has much better reviews. I never thought much about playing PSP games, anyway.... I'm more of a DS person.
I guess I'll get the Xperia Arc this weekend..... I've already figured that I should be able to recoup the cost of the HTC Desire by doing a trade-in. After figuring that in, I should be able to get an Xperia Arc (w/o contract) for the cost of an iPhone 4 (w/ contract).

Also, SE phones have more resale value even after a couple of years.

The Play's reviews are all over the place. I tried it, it's ridiculously fast because of the PSP support, and my reason for upgrading to it in the future is because the new PSVita, new handheld coming in December, will pretty much phase out PSP because it's a different handheld altogether, so might as well sell my PSP, and get the Play.
And since Tare is going for the Arc...
I like big phones, and it's Android. Lul. But that's just me. :P
oh yeah.. the battery? you got to bring your charger if you're going to work.. you're gonna need it...
if you're out and about for more than 12 hours, you're gonna need a spare batt...
apart from that, see if they can update the OS on the Arc.. updating it is a pain in the ass because you need to connect to a PC (the MacBook doesn't work with it)
i've tried to update the thing on a PC and i can't because it tells you to do something and the phone switches off... i'll drop by at a Sony centre one of these days to make them do it for me

Yeah, one thing I absolutely hate with Sony Ericsson is their update system. It's all over the place, it's confusing, and it's unclear when the site tells you one thing, then the program tells you another, and the phone tells you something entirely different. And the actual process itself is so not user-friendly.
Well, I have a second micro USB cable. The HTC Desire is power-hungry, and if I don't keep it plugged into my office PC, half the juice is gone by the end of the day. The cable cost me just 5 bucks, anyway.
Anyway, Mobile Square at Far East is offering $260 for a HTC Desire trade-in. Since I shelled out $248 for it with a contract, I'm already making a small profit. And they're flogging the Xperia Arc for $680.
So doing the math, it would cost me $420 for the Xperia Arc. Which is actually pretty cheap, considering that FS paid $400 for her iPhone 4..... with contract.
And I've done my homework, too.... VR Zone and HWZ forummites all endorsed the shop as being credible. At least, no one has reported getting fleeced by them.
i'm still laughing that the HTC Magic which is a piece of crap, was worth $100 trade-in at M1.. and it was 2 years old!
I"m seeing really good reviews for the SGSII so I might get it afterall
SGS??
