Apparently there is a service disruption today on the Circle Line between Marymount and one-north.
As a result, I had to take the bus to school from Buona Vista.
It's not just the disruption that bugs me; it's how they handled it that bugs me even more. The only notice we had of the disruption was one single scribbled sign at the escalators leading to the Circle Line, and one single SMRT makcik trying to tell everyone not to go down there.
Otherwise, there was not a single PA system announcement or anything like that, and lots of people still went down to the Circle Line.
I would like to assemble the entire SMRT leadership and have the Riot Act read to them.
i'm so glad they took off that silly jingle of "train is coming"....ok that was some time back...
Hmmm, those situation, when u get into a arguement with a collick and both cannot back down...

What would I want an iPad for?
For my work a laptop makes more sense for me to work on and my phone replies all the emails >.<"
And I doubt my boss will agree to that coz ever since he was forced to get an iPad for work from his other company he bitches about it non-stop

I would agree laptop makes more sense... our company values alot on working on the go and hot-desking... So we can work anywhere, anytime...
We also have our own company secured wifi (which is why some of us works from food court or starbucks at times )
Things I used my iPad for:
Internet surfing(blogs, forums, special interest, research, etc)
Presentations (using keynote)
To do list and planner
Take notes of meeting
Bloomberg businessweek & the New Yorker
TED
Ebooks and PDF documents
Other assorted uses
Now granted I can do all that on a smartphone or laptop but squinting at a phone LCD kills my eyes and laptops are heavy with lousy battery life

My phone does everything too, abit on the slow side though... I can do everything except accessing my company emails...
I do prefer laptop though they are bulkier but they can handle more stress then an ipad..
am only using the iPad (my own) for travelling - easier to lug it around than the netbook. am using it for surfing, like 90% of the time

i used my computer 24 hrs 7 days a week back in spore many winters ago.i doubt a ipad or laptop can do that job.

So I can either have a train disruption or a bus that hollands for 2 hours.
Which do I choose?

over something inconsequential as that?
or hell, it's good because people listen in and not go to the stations...
next they will have to censure the DJs who take calls from people who report traffic jams because they are not official reports...

censure, not censor
Originally posted by the Bear:censure, not censor
oh okay... I went to dictionary tat word...
I think it's dumb... at this era of internet and mobility, everyone can access information easily...
Or maybe they fear ppl will troll using information (yes, we have ppl trolling such as the hwz incident where some troll spread false info on planes crashing into ubi and the guy was arrested)???
now they try to censor live shows too.... there is a lag between the show and the broadcast.. especially contest things...
this after the Victor & Charlie Saturday Morning Show many many years ago

Wait for SMRT to give official announcements?
Pui. They couldn't even disseminate the announcements properly to the passengers at the stations!
Knowing them, they'll use this as an excuse to raise their fares.
i wonder who are they kidding, apart from themselves
They should just blame themselves for their slow reaction times
