  I had a routine dental checkup just now.

  I was hoping for zero cavities. I was really happy when the dentist announced zero cavities after observing and probing my teeth.

  Unfortunately, after the scaling process..... whoops, one cavity was uncovered, and it had to be filled before it got worse.

  My bill shot up as a result.

  That reminds me of one of my checkups last year.

  The dentist found a cavity, and I was hesistant about getting it fixed since it was going to cost quite a bit.

  The dentist said: 'Fill a cavity now: $70. Root canal in a few months' time: $700. Your choice'.

  Dang, he sure knew how to make a convincing argument.
