IF YOU'VE got it, flaunt it. But if you do, please, do not make us feel bad or guilty about it.
What am I talking about? Scantily-clad women. Or more specifically, women who choose to put on a low-cut blouse to reveal a plunging neckline, or a micro mini skirt that barely covers their bum cheeks.
Do not get me wrong. For sure, Iam no prude and in this day and age, women can choose to do whatever they please.
But please, there is a time and place for everything.
If you are dressed provocatively when travelling on the bus or the train, especially in broad daylight, then the least I can say is that you should expect leering looks from fellow passengers who are eager to take their eyes off congested roads or boring, dark tunnels.
And on a crowded train or bus, it is harder to avert your eyes even if you wish to.
If a lady is uncomfortable with that (and I would be, too, if I had women ogling at me from head to toe), then I suggest that they choose to dress more appropriately when commuting on public transport.
Said my friend Roshan, who takes the train daily: 'I often see women who keep fidgeting with their short skirts, clearly uncomfortable with the attention that they are receiving.
'It is a choice and they must accept the consequences that come with it. If they cannot handle the attention, then please, cover up. What is the point of glaring at me throughout the ride? I didn't steal her clothes!'
I agree.
Though I must clarify that usually, when we stare, it is merely to admire her overall beauty and perhaps if she is with her friend, then her charming personality which shines through in their conversation.
Ahem.
But I digress. A female friend said: 'If we wear short skirts and men don't stare, then the short skirt wouldn't have achieved its aim, would it?
'These women probably are very confused. Deep down, they love the attention but upfront, they do not want to give the impression to men that they are display items.'
So yes, it all boils down to self esteem and confidence.
In my humble opinion, the key ingredient to looking good and attractive is to always wear something that you are comfortablein.
If you are dressed to kill but look like a rabbit caught in headlights whenever a man glances your way, then perhaps you should rethink or reorganise your wardrobe.
If you need my help, give me a call. I will go the extra mile and pick matching lingerie.
