Hi everyone,
My name is Simeon Bennett. I'm a healthcare reporter with Bloomberg News here in Singapore. I'm currently working on a story about the government's proposed amendments to the Infectious Diseases Act -- the ones that will enable them to prosecute people who don't know their HIV status but who have "reason to believe" they have HIV.
I'm looking for someone who is HIV negative, or who doesn't know their status, to comment on whether the new laws will encourage or deter them from getting tested. Will you be more or less likely to go for a test if these laws are passed?
Let me assure you that I won't name anyone who doesn't want to be named. My aim is not to embarrass anyone, but to find out what people think.
If you think you can help, please send me an email:
[email protected]. I'd be happy to call you if you can give me a phone number.
I've already posted this topic in the speaker's corner and another forum, but I'm trying to spread the net as widely as I can -- so apologies if you've read my message more than once!
Thanks,
Simeon Bennett
