Dun want car liao still must pay for COE?

Hi,
Booked a car from one of the major dealer last yr end. Till now there is non-delivery of car. However, COE already secured.
Spoke to salesman and he say if you dun want car still must buy that COE from the company as it is under ur name and not transferable. Is this true?
Can anyone advise wat to do next? Does it mean I only have two options
1) wait for my car (coming three months liao dunno when arrive)
2) cancel the order and buy the COEAny help is appreciated. Thanks.

what is your agreement with dealer
check your agreement with dealer, there must be a deadline for the dealer to supply you with a car.
if it is dealer unable to fulfil agreement to supply you with a car by the deadline, then dealer have to compensate you.

May I suggest you call LTA and maybe you can buy the COE and scrapped the COE, thus allowing a 100% refund less period less service charge, maybe...or check prices of car (with current stock availability) without COE and then buy the COE to buy that car you had checked. If not checked the contract which you signed and see whether you have escape clause to give up without penalty... if you are right, then go to file a complaint with CASE. Honestly, usually it is got CAR but waiting COE, yours is got COE no CAR.... Business strategy !

Just wait out for the delivery of your car lah. Your car will come one. Why worry major dealer dun deliver? You ever heard or read in forums of major dealer never deliver car or unable to secure COE? Never right? So just wait. Save up some money for your mods and so on. What's the hurry of getting the new car? Show off? Tell ppl you buy already but car haben come so no face??
Once the car arrives, installment will start liao. Although it might be 3 months wait, your car is only registered less than a week before you drive it off. So dun worry lah.

wat i am afraid is keep on dragging
has been delayed quite a number of times liao
dun think they are very sure when the car will come as they cite shipping problems

Waiting for a few months for a car to arrive is ok lah. Don't so kan chiong. it will come. Unless u damn guai lan then i support you!

not advisable to take COE and get another car
you will not get a good price for your car this way
or the dealer of the new car may not even want to do this kind of business at all

The company say they will provide replacement car until my car come, but they not very generous with the waiving for assessories. The service of the salesman really sux. He threaten to hold back our deposit/COE/Car if we complain to CASE. He keep harping that his company already give us compensation in the form of the replacement car. He is unable to give us a date for delivery. Now we dun deal with him but his sales manager instead.
Anyway, went CASE liao. CASE help me ask to confirm date of delivery. But CASE is not a legal entity. They cannot enforce anything. The last option is to go court to fight.
The reason why i am quite tired of waiting as this car is supposed to be a wedding anniversary gift. Now my wife everyday asked me when her "gift" will arrive. Quite sianzzzzz.

tt time the first batch of honda civic FD enmasse cannot arrive in time...tt one delay ard almost up to half a year...
u liddat cannot dong already ah???
in the end all owners still took hold of their vehicles din they???
and kah motors also gave cash rebate or replacement cars for the owners what....

she should be more appreciative instead of bugging u.
and u shouldn't even let minor things like these pressure u at all.

press ur dealer to confirm an estimated date of delivery. they'll have a forecast as to when the car will come in. if not, last resort is ask them take from another dealer. a major dealer will have no prob securing another unit one. but den, wat car did u buy?
