What news you want to know?Originally posted by 201911:rmb there was a news article around this time last year which said Kim Chuan Depot would get TOP around 3rd quarter this year... anyone got news abt Kim Chuan?
Wikipedia can be edited by anybody, which means the article should not be taken as a reliable source. The information may be an intelligent guess on the person's part, or the person may be working for LTA/SMRT/whatever. But I personally don't think this info is accurate, as SMRT mentioned perviously in a news article that stages 2 & 3 are 'not likely to open so soon due to limited commuters'.From what I remember, the article also said stages 2&3 would most probably open with stage 1.Originally posted by Novawin™:I am not sure if the stated opening date of CCL Stage 2 and 3 from Wikipedia is confirmed or not.
Look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Singapore_MRT_stations#ref_Openg
It said CCL Stage 3 will open in October 2008, then followed by Stage 2 in December 2008.
LTA's CCL page is pretty out-of-dated...
It is true that Stage 2 and 3 only be opened together with Stage 1 at the same time since the tunnel at Nicoll Highway is missing.Originally posted by 201911:Wikipedia can be edited by anybody, which means the article should not be taken as a reliable source. The new ticketing office is now in operations mode.Originally posted by 201911:For Bishan station, the new ticketing office is ready (but not in use yet) and the new southbound platform is taking shape. The last time I went to the interchange side (abt 1-2 weeks ago) to look at the other station entrance, it had not taken shape yet.
Thanks for sharing this. I have not been to Marymount for some times. I maybe go there to take a look at the station entrance soon. I am sure big change in Marymount will give me a big surprise since my last visit there saw the road being aligned due to CCL construction.Originally posted by 201911:The structure of the 2 station entrances in Marymount are really taking shape now. The roof is halfway done and the walls of the entrances are being built. And in the middle of marymount road, what looks like a future ventilation shaft is also being built.
only left the escalators, stn signs and info boards on the ousideOriginally posted by Novawin™:Thanks for sharing this. I have not been to Marymount for some times. Have been to Bras Basah Road quite many times and saw CCL station entrance. They are about 90% completed.
What makes u say about the layout btw Promenade and Bayfront?Originally posted by Novawin™:I can't be 100% sure abt this but I can guess it correctly. =)
I think Promenade and Bayfront MRT station will be like Raffles Place/City Hall Interchange station having cross-transfer platform. Like you transfer at City Hall or Raffles Place to change between NSL or EWL train so this will go to the same thing for transferring between CCL and DTL train.
This will save alot of time and effort by not having to walk down all the way or taking travellator when changing train.
However, for Marina Bay station interchanging with CCL, there will not have cross-transger platform so it will be like Outram Park interchange station walking down to get to CCL train from NSL train.
Look at this...Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:What makes u say about the layout btw Promenade and Bayfront?
I think it would be like outram park leh.. cos the plans for bayfront rolled out after the construction of Promenade station right?
Is the Harbourfront CCL interchange gonna be directly under the NEL one?
I think CCL and DTL tunnels are linked together as DTL does not have its depot yet.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:cool stuff man... so the red part signifies the extension of CCL tunnels which has nothing to do with DTL tunnels right?
wow where u get this stuff from? so if u infer that DTL confirm under SMRT, does it mean the exact same train models and designs will run the DTL as with CCL?Originally posted by Novawin™:I think CCL and DTL tunnels are linked together as DTL does not have its depot yet.
You know DTL Stage 1 will be ready by 2013 so I can tell you that the train being deployed for DTL will be running from CCL Kim Chuan Depot since there is no depot for DTL train along DTL Stage 1. The train will be deployed from CCL depot to run DTL Stage 1 when it is due in 2013 so there will be linkage between CCL and DTL tunnels for train to cross to serve DTL Stage 1.
Currently, 40 trains were ordered to run CCL but Kim Chuan Depot can house up to max 78 trains. So I guess the remaining 38 trains will be deployed to run DTL Stage 1 and Stage 2 until another depot will probably be built on DTL Stage 3.
I can say that SMRT will be the operator for DTL for sure.
And just want to add on for your knowledge.
If I am not wrong, the southern end of Bukit Timah Line (BTL) was originally to terminate at Nicoll Highway station which will be interchanging with CCL and ERL will be separate line from BTL.
But because of Nicoll Highway collapse, LTA has to decide to shift the termination point for BTL to Promenade station and later joined with ERL and Downtown Extension of CCL, thus integrating 3 of them into Downtown Line (DTL). Provision has already been made to Promenade station for interchanging ERL (now known as DTL Stage 3) and BTL (now known as DTL Stage 2) together with CCL.
