Yeah, I read it somewhere in a rail forum but can't remember where the information was from. Anyway, I guess we just wait and see for more details on DTL Stage 1 to be announced by LTA at later date.Originally posted by DMC05:Perhaps... But where did that info come from in the first place anyway? It could have been false info for all you know, or speculation which can be unreliable.
On the other hand it is, after all, an artist's impression which may not follow exactly.
Interesting... The temporary wall is just next to travellator escalator near to NSL ticket concourse right? Or is it referring to the long wall (the one used to be covered with art works when NEL opened in 2003 but now it has either plain white cover or advertisement poster covering) facing travellator escalator?Originally posted by DMC05:Dhoby Ghaut should be spacious. The area between the NEL station and the CCL station isn't empty space. Its the CCL station. A temporary wall has been put up, which will be removed once the line is in operation. The linkway between the NSL and the NEL will then be a bridge and not a hall!

B1 - NSL fare gates and ticket concourse, transfer linkway
B2 - NSL platforms, NEL ticket concourse and fare gates

Oh haha. Thanks. I will figure it out and know where is it next time I am in Dhoby Ghaut station.Originally posted by DMC05:The wall opposite the travelators. The one which usually has a lot of starhub advertisements stuck on it. Also, once you come down the escalators at the NEL ticketing concourse from Plaza Singapura, the wall there is a temporary one.
I think should be the latter case. The pic was published in LTA'S june-july magazine issue. link is shown below:Originally posted by DMC05:Perhaps... But where did that info come from in the first place anyway? It could have been false info for all you know, or speculation which can be unreliable.

yup. i seems the overall CCL side is bigger than expected... what about the wall on the travellator side? this wall leading to the NSL side looks temporary. does it have anything (i seriously doubt so) to do with the CCL?Originally posted by DMC05:The wall opposite the travelators. how u know the CCL platform is higher than the NEL one? i thought it was lower?Originally posted by DMC05:Dhoby Ghaut should be spacious. hey nice pics! thanks for the update... it really sucks to be stuck in camp on weekdays without news... its like being in a cave... anyway is this bottom the platform? or does it go any deeper? looks very shallow to me...Originally posted by Novawin™:Last Thursday's News 5 Tonight showed the construction site of rebuilt Nicoll Highway MRT station. The evacuative phase of Nicoll Highway station is now completed so they began to lay the concrete to build the station.
Yeah, think it's the bottom of the platform. And it look smaller than the original station which was built near The Concourse before the collapse. The rebuilt station is now 1/3 lesser of the size of the original station.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:hey nice pics! thanks for the update... it really sucks to be stuck in camp on weekdays without news... its like being in a cave... anyway is this bottom the platform? or does it go any deeper? looks very shallow to me...

Rebuilt Nicoll Highway Station
Original Nicoll Highway Station
The original look much more unique cos it allow the sunlight to pass through the glass panel but now the rebuilt one does not feature this anymore.
yeah but most important of all is the station must be structurally sound, so i don't quite mindOriginally posted by Novawin™:Rebuilt Nicoll Highway Station

We all know that all stations in CCL Stage 1 have their unique design as they are within CBD and "modern" town.Originally posted by 201911:yeah but most important of all is the station must be structurally sound, so i don't quite mind
Care to share the link with us on the photo of construction progress for Vancouver metro line?Originally posted by DMC05:I'm just wondering why LTA couldn't be a bit more like InTransitBC in Vancouver, Canada. They have been building a new metro line since 2005, scheduled for completion in late 2009 (and in time for the Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010). For the construction of this line, they have regular photo updates on the Canada Line website whereas all LTA gives are renders of future stations and no updates except for the ones that come once in a blue moon in written form (tunneling is bla bla bla percent complete with about bla bla bla km out of bla bla bla km done).
only 1 side escalator? the overall layout looks very stage3/Kovan/Hougang-like...Originally posted by Novawin™:Rebuilt Nicoll Highway Station
