Dhoby Ghaut should be spacious. The area between the NEL station and the CCL station isn't empty space. Its the CCL station. A temporary wall has been put up, which will be removed once the line is in operation. The linkway between the NSL and the NEL will then be a bridge and not a hall!

Yeah, I read it somewhere in a rail forum but can't remember where the information was from. Anyway, I guess we just wait and see for more details on DTL Stage 1 to be announced by LTA at later date.Originally posted by DMC05:Perhaps... Interesting... The temporary wall is just next to travellator escalator near to NSL ticket concourse right? The wall opposite the travelators. The one which usually has a lot of starhub advertisements stuck on it. Also, once you come down the escalators at the NEL ticketing concourse from Plaza Singapura, the wall there is a temporary one.
With regards to Landmark station, I know I've seen that on wikipedia which is why I doubt its authenticity. -

yup. i seems the overall CCL side is bigger than expected... what about the wall on the travellator side? this wall leading to the NSL side looks temporary. does it have anything (i seriously doubt so) to do with the CCL?Originally posted by DMC05:The wall opposite the travelators. cool what u mean by a bridge instead of a hall? behind the starhub advert wall is nothing but 1 level down? -
At the end of the transfer link there's a white wall on the NSL ticketing concourse, this is temporary. I assume there will be escalators or stairs from here to get to the CCL mezzanine/void/transfer concourse.
The NEL transfer will be at B3 where passengers can come up one escalator, cross over to the transfer concourse at the CCL station and descend one level to the platforms.
There used to be a diagram somewhere showing the full layout of Dhoby Ghaut station - NSL, NEL and CCL. -
passed by Marymount station today. progress is very fast; the road divider i the middle of Marymount road is almost completely filled up. the hoardings on the side of the road towards Thomson road have mostly been taken off and a layer of tarmac is being spread on the newly- filled up road divider. meanwhile, what looks like an air vent in the middle of that road divider does not seem to have changed much in the past week. finally, the station entrances are nearing completion.

Last Thursday's News 5 Tonight showed the construction site of rebuilt Nicoll Highway MRT station. The evacuative phase of Nicoll Highway station is now completed so they began to lay the concrete to build the station.

Yeah, think it's the bottom of the platform. And it look smaller than the original station which was built near The Concourse before the collapse. The original look much more unique cos it allow the sunlight to pass through the glass panel but now the rebuilt one does not feature this anymore. -

But cos Nicoll Highway station will only serve The Concourse and Golden Mile Tower which are the nearby buidings so I expect that this station will see lesser traffic like NEL's Buangkok station.
So it does not matter anyway if Nicoll Highway station have this feature or not.
Promenade station has two platforms actually which is like Raffles Place/City Hall station. Wondering how deep is this station when it was being constructed.

I'm just wondering why LTA couldn't be a bit more like InTransitBC in Vancouver, Canada. They have been building a new metro line since 2005, scheduled for completion in late 2009 (and in time for the Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010). For the construction of this line, they have regular photo updates on the Canada Line website whereas all LTA gives are renders of future stations and no updates except for the ones that come once in a blue moon in written form (tunneling is bla bla bla percent complete with about bla bla bla km out of bla bla bla km done).

I think due to security reasons, LTA will not post the photo on the progress of MRT construction on their website.
The progress on MRT construction in written form by LTA is okay as long as there's no pictures attached to it. -
Well, every country faces security threats these days, regardless where you are. And in any case, there are pictures available at forums such as here and they have footage on television as well.
