15/01/08: KTMB Ekspres Rakyat extended to Butterworth

  Today is a historic event.
  
  KTMB's Ekspres Rakyat, which formerly ran from Singapore to KL Sentral have been extended to run it's original route between Singapore - Butterworth. A ceremony was held at Butterworth to send off the down train from Butterworth to Singapore. The down train will arrive at Woodlands CIQ at around 8:45 pm if there are no delays and will arrive at Tanjung PAgar KTM Station at 9:45 pm.
  
  Express Rakyat was introduced to run from Butterworth - Singapore. It was shortened to Singapore - KL in 2001 due to Rawang - Ipoh electrification and double tracking projects.
  
  Now the video of the first up train departing Singapore is available.
  
  Note that it's shot from a friend, not by myself.

  How about the Express Sinaran service that runs between KL and PG? Was it reinstated too?

  U mean Butterworth?
  
  It still runs but on weekends.

  Just a correction:
  
  KL Sentral - Ipoh shuttle will use normal intercity coaches till the new 6-car EMUs arrive.
  
  KL Sentral - Ipoh shuttle timetable is also not published on KTMB website, just like East Coast Line Mail trains.
