Think of people living on the other exits/other side of the O/H bridge...

It looks like this is more intended for different exits at underground stations, where an existing lift may not be installed other than say the one on the other side of a busy road.
I don't think they need to built a second lift.

It is needed for the disabled.

...... isn't that the point?
CCL they installing the 2nd lift at Lorong Chuan and Bartley stations.
u can have 10 lifts in the train station...
but as long as the able-bodied dun give priority to those who need the lift more,
it is as good as having 0 lift...
i tot it will be nice if lift is installed from the ticket concourse level to the underpass that lead to the Northpoint shopping centre and Yishun Bus Interchange

That is unlikely since it would mean they have to create more gates if you mean from inside the MRT area since the underpass is not under the exit area and the underpass would have to be extended for that to happen if u mean from the exit area.

look at AMK mrt stations, underpass, they built a lift. Maybe same situation could be applied to YISHUN

The AMK underpass is abit smaller than yishun i think. 4got le since its been some time since i've been there but i believe space would be a factor and thats not so easy at yishun compared to AMK where its all the way at the end and not that near the MRT gates etc
Notice that YIS mrt had 2 staircases. They demolish 1 preferance the one near UOB atm make it empty and make a lift.
doing it sth like AMK.

That will depend on whether they feel theres a need for it though. Not sure how much is the AMK lift utilised since the last time i went i see everyone just using the escalator/stairs since its faster unless of course you have a baby pram etc which makes it more troublesome.
Remember almost having an accident at cityhall MRT few weeks back cos some parent pushing a pram using the escalator got it stuck or jam at the top and everyone behind were all coming up. A second or 2 more sure to have people fall and cause injuries since the top few ppl were already packed together cos we cannot move with the person blocking.
