SMRT monopoly for its route, therefore they can be so f***. water also cannot ah, then what kind of public transport is this? water can evaporate one leh, so where got dirty trains? those red shirt retards cant even tell the difference meh? go for more training mannn. oh sorry i forgot, they got no qualifications thats why they do such jobs.
so does it mean that if we buy food or drinks that we want to consume at home we can only take taxi home? then why the need for a train?

The more appropriate sign would be "no littering".or "no vandalism", etc.
If SMRT find that ppl talking in train is nuisance, can SMRT fine ppl for talking on train? In future they will put signs like "no sitting on train", "no sleeping on train", "no entering the train" "no.... wtf.
Might as well just ask ppl to buy the ticket and stand at platform are not allow to move besides standing. Or else fine S$1,000,000!!!!!
hahahaha...... they are telling the world that we are as good as children that needs such actions from them and it is justified !

Plain water also cannot , even if spill also wouldn't attract ants.Agree with you.Is not that it is a favoured drink.

In the scenario you described, why did the train jerked? Did the train operator has poor train maneuvering skills or there's a slight uneven surface on the rail. The MRT staff should be looking into that instead.Do you need more and more rules, regulations, laws for Singapore to make people behave? Singapore is already such a "Fine" country, you still want to make it even more "Fine" by having more rules, regulations and laws?
What happened to public education by SMRT? I don't see posters at MRT stations and trains asking people not to eat / drink. I don't see advertisement on tv either.
Other western countries can allow their commuters (young and old) to eat / drink in trains, why can't SMRT? The best part is the train operators there are not charging the passengers train fares but SMRT is.
Being fare-paying passengers, the passengers are customers of a transport company. Which company fine it's customers?
SMRT is already making billions with the train fares, do they still need to fine people for eating / drinking to increase their revenue?
I feel that SMRT being a transport company, whether private or GLC, does not have the right to fine passengers.
I believe such rules are for the good of Singaporeans.
We are too god damned selfish n inconsiderate towards others.
Where is our social responsibility....Japan allow ppl to eat n drink on the train but they are socially responsible, they tried to eat only dry food n will clean up their mess. If this happen to Singapore, I think SMRT will close down cos nobody want to take their trains due to ppl treating the train as a rubbish bin.

do u want water to be spilled on the train?? do u want to stand on a pool of water? wondering what is that in the first place
always ask yrself such question first, dont just open yr mouth without thinking. haiz
water can evaporate when it is on open field under the sun, on a train, u will need a cleaner to clear the mess.
did SMRT say that they will fine ppl for bring food on board?
pls dont make a fuss over nothing. the rule is against eating n drinking....pls read b4 commenting....
dun understand why ppl are making noise over this...
give it another 3months or so... no one will b enforcing such rules liao lah... then it is back to square one where ppl start eating and drinking...
then some ppl beisong go stomp or complaint.... and the cycle start all over again....
to be honest, u think smrt so eng go make their staffs walk ard inside train instead of doing more meaningful/important task? who or wat cause them to take such action? the same ppl that is cbcs abt lah.... our fellow mate whom took it up with themselve to complaint loh

water can evaporate anywhere anytime, even on an open field under the sun and on a train. the rate of evaporation differs however. you fail your science? actually this is common sense, and you dont even have it. sigh.....

You are right about the lacking of social responsibility among Singaporeans, but why is it lacking? Did the parents never taught their children about being social responsible beings when growing up? Did the schools never taught their students about being social responsible beings when growing up?
I believe that educating Singaporeans at school and home about being a social responsible being is more effective than using rules to control their behaviour.
